Same interviewer, more Em content. I KNOW, CONSIDER THE SOURCE. This is the Byron guy who did the tell-all (I didn't realize at first) but there's definitely some truth here and what he says about Paul rings true for sure. It's a good interview and he is not disrespectful to Em.
He STILL talks about that damn 6k he thinks he's owed so at this point I kinda believe him.

He's corrupt and narcissistic and I'm glad he's gone. He acts like he single-handedly is responsible for Em's existence, he's bitter no one apologized to him, he's totally self-important and he's still trying to sell his fucking book from 20 years ago...but he is a good storyteller and as someone who knows he is out of the circle forever I feel like he has nothing to lose by telling the truth, which makes him more trustworthy than a lot of people. Does he really have anything new to add. I think he only worked for Em for like 5-6 MONTHS and then went and wrote a tell all book. This was over 20 years ago. He would have no idea what is going on in Em's life now...or the last 20 years. Does he talk about Em for the whole 2 hours and 20 minutes? I'm not sure I want to waste my time with this guy. Can you give a brief summary of what he says/

Can you give a brief summary of what he says/ Um, I wouldn't really recommend investing your full attention but if you're doing housework or something it's good for background. I'm still watching and have been rolling my eyes a lot. The guy is a piece of work for sure. He literally holds up his book several times and sometimes teases a story that he says is told in full in the book. He thinks he single-handedly saved Em's life and wasn't properly thanked. He gives himself massive amounts of credit for "challenging Em's intellect". He thinks Em hasn't completed his AA steps because Em never tried to make amends with him. He says he helped Em stay relevant with his book. Stupid af. Some highlights: Em was not religious but was a "sponge" for spiritual beliefs that made sense to him and helped him make sense of the world. He recalls a moment Em was reading the Bible while wearing a shirt that said McSatan on it that had the McDonalds logo with devil horns. He says Em was very worried about becoming Michael Jackson. He did NOT want to be lonely and trapped in his house. It was his greatest fear. He says he and Em weren't close at first but became good friends. Said Em used to sleep on his couch when he was fighting with Kim. He tells the story of leaving a movie theater bc Em called him from a bus stop freaking out about some fight with Kim, that night he played video games with Byron's sons all night and slept over. He says Marshall was a great person but relied very much on his music identities to balance himself out. Eminem was for fans. Shady was for friends. Marshall was for family. Sometimes if he was going too much in one way they would use his govt name to bring him back to earth. He could be an asshole. When he used cocaine it was worse. He said he (Byron) took too long on the toilet once and Em left the hotel without him. So he runs out and finds him and says wtf I was on the john, and Em said "I was ready to go, learn to shit quicker." Proof really was a good friend. Everything people have said about him being a peacemaker is true. He was a very grounding influence on Em. He (Proof) took very good care of himself and was a health-conscious person and the drugs REALLY bothered him. In general Byron really liked Proof, the DJ, the sound guy, and a lot of the crew. Byron hates Paul. HATES him. I need to go back and listen again bc I got distracted, but basically beyond this dumb argument they had over lack of payment, way before the tell-all, Paul was extremely vindictive and was trying to ruin Byron's personal life. Something about getting his wife fired? Like I said I have to re-listen. Otherwise everything we have all said, Paul was extremely controlling and made access to Em a competition even among Em's friends. He implies he and Paul literally came close to killing each other (I seriously doubt this). What I got from this segment was that they were 2 narcissists arguing over a toy (Em) He says the record companies actually did want the best for Em because they knew there was money in it for them. He says there's racism in the industry and there are differences between black and white contracts, and white people don't get fleeced as badly. Tbh I don't disagree. He desperately wants Em to "get off his high horse" and join Byron to make a multimillion dollar biopic about Em's life so that his daughters will be set for life (umm...I think they're ok dude). He says he has people "ready to go" and he still loves Em. His last words before leaving the interview were "Shady Bizness, read it, I'm out."

"Shit faster."
Lmao I adore sassy/feisty Em lollll
But yeah I remember this interview. Dude when he mentioned making sure hailie was secure financially I'm like how fucking delusional are you? Em is loaded and spends his moneys on rare cassette tapes lol. He's good
I also remember the part where he was like abandoning or Em or something to that effect and Em was really hurt. It's clear from personal stories about Em that he has really bad abandonment issues man. That's why loyalty is so important to him

Now I want to listen to it. I guess I will take your recommendations and have it on while I clean the house tomorrow. I'm just afraid this dude will make my blood boil. Can you think of a bigger grifter than this guy? I mean, it's been over 20 years. Give it a rest.

The fact that Em didn't have access to his money according to naz? Makes me wonder what daily access he has now?
thta losing everything excuse is lame too. I am ALWAYS losing shit. Ask my friends-notorious for it. Doesn't mean I should have access to my damn money lol

That's why loyalty is so important to him Omfg dude I rolled my eyes SO HARD when he begged Em to do the movie with him so Hailie would be financially secure. EM IS WORTH $200 MILLION DOLLARS. And then when he said HE along with Shady Bizness had helped keep Em relevant for 20 years! Wtf? I doubt even 70% of his fans know about this ex-insider's diary from 1999, especially younger fans. "I always liked Eminem but I really didn't understand the whole picture until I read his bodyguard's book," SAID NO ONE EVER.

Oh it'll boil. I mean he is a good storyteller and it is interesting, especially the Death Row politics of '99 and Suge Knight wanting to "steal" Em, but what my summary left out was him congratulating himself and taking credit for everything. He was the best bodyguard. He taught Marshall about God. Everyone got high and drunk except for him. He did so many jobs, he was one guy doing a 5 man detail. He wouldn't have been as mad as he was if he wasn't so tired from being the best at so many jobs. If it weren't for him Marshall would be dead. Blah blah blah blah blah...and then there's the whining that he was never given enough credit, no one apologized to him, they should have been more grateful, etc.

I would love for them to link again

It sucks that the business side got in the way of their friendship. I always thought his best work was with the bass brothers.

He contradicts himself several times and you know he is either lying or exaggerating. Like the story with the mom and pregnant daughter wanting to have sex with Em. He starts the story with the mom asking the bus driver (while stuck in traffic on the freeway) if she can come on the bus; bus driver says yes, she comes on and brings her daughter. He then talks about how the mother and daughter start making out "in the suite". I thought they were on the bus. Then he tells the story about a concert in San Fran where Em gets into a fight with some hecklers in the crowd. Blah, blah, blah and Proof finishes the show. Except when I look up the story, there is no mention of Proof...only Royce. Wasn't Royce Em's hype man back in the beginning, not Proof? And I'm having a tough time stomaching his insufferable personality. He's the greatest at everything and did everything for Em...even watching him sleep in case something happen to him in the middle of the night. UGH! Alright..lets see if I can finish this train wreck.
