EM legally adopted Nate. For a while Nate went by Nate Kane but, c'mon, in Michigan the last name "Mathers" bodes well.

But as a teen, Nate was placed with Em, who had official custody. I'm not sure what's up with Nate and his dad, but there are obviously issues there. Nate may have taken on the Mathers name because he felt like Marshall was more of a father to him than his own dad. Just a guess. |

Didn't Nate live with his dad for awhile back when Em and Kim had gotten back together? I think they have a relationship, or some kind of relationship. |

What would Eminem's super power be? X-ray vision, super strength, mind reading? I'm thinking his super power would be x-ray vision, but only because I believe he's a super-pervert and would want that as his power. But I'm also a "grown-up", and I've seen lots of naked folks and x-ray vision is definitely not a superpower in my own opinion, more like super-ewww. What do you all think?

Of course, I could be over analyzing their situation, because maybe EM was just awarded Guardianship. And let's not forget that EM has been more of a father figure to Nate than probably his real father. Tough shoes for Nate to follow in. |

I think he was Nate's legal guardian, which is different from adopting him. he is Alaina (along with Kim's mom) and Whitney's legal guardian but has never formally adopted them. Legal guardianship is different from formal adoption. |

I am quite sure Em did not adopt Nate. Nate was taken out of Debbie's home by the state and Marshall was awarded custody/ legal guardianship. He adopted Whitney (in which he became her legal parent). I'm still not 100% sure about Alaina. I know he became her legal guardian along with Kim, and was essentially dad to her. No doubt he considers Alaina one of his daughters. But I've also heard her call him "uncle." So I'm not sure.
