I think he might be just Nate's legal guardian and I don't think he adopted him but I do think he formally adopted Alaina and Whitney but maybe Alaina calls him uncle sometimes bc she's just too used to it from when she was a little girl

I am quite sure Em did not adopt Nate. Nate was taken out of Debbie's home by the state and Marshall was awarded custody/ legal guardianship. He adopted Whitney (in which he became her legal parent). I'm still not 100% sure about Alaina. I know he became her legal guardian along with Kim, and was essentially dad to her. No doubt he considers Alaina one of his daughters. But I've also heard her call him "uncle." So I'm not sure. I was also under the impression that Em just had guardianship over Nate. I know everyone says he adopted Alaina and Whitney and I have seen guardianship papers for Alaina but nothing regarding Whitney. So I always wondered myself if he actually adopted Whitney or if he just claims her as his own. There is nothing wrong with that, the father that raised me never formally adopted me but you could not tell him or his family that I was not his child  I have heard Alaina call Em "uncle" before as well on that Shady45 interview when she was a early teen maybe? Then that picture that was floating around a few months ago with Em wearing the sorority Tshirt that came from Alaina (that had something about "only the best fathers raise whatever sorority girls) and the caption she wrote under it stated "she has the best" plus the tattoo she got that she stated was in honor of her "mother and father" everyone assumed she was referring to Kim and Em. I figured when she was younger she only thought of him as "uncle" but as she got older she realized just how much Kim and Em have done for her and started to view them differently. I hope that makes sense LOL I just know from living with a teenage daughter when they are in their early teens parents are the enemy and anything they can do to get under their skin they will, or at least mine did! As she has matured her whole attitude has changed. |

I think papers and legal things don't necessarily have anything to do with that. If you consider a child your own, it is your child. Though of course it's better to adopt to add legal protection to this.

I guess it's just his 3 daughters, Nate + Nate's family and maybe Adam (Alaina's twin) ?, but that's about it. He was close to his great aunt Edna until she died in like 2009. Maybe I'm forgetting someone? |

I always wonder, and i dont know if you guys have that type of info, but presently what members of eminem´s family he is close? I really hope and wish that Em has mostly reconciled with his mother for both their sakes. Even if he still keeps her at arm's length to protect himself (if that is what he feels he needs to do), I certainly hope they're at least on speaking terms. Life is too short to keep a grudge forever. And if she's still "crazy" or toxic to him, he can still limit the contact. Just like I hope he hasn't cut out the rest of his family. I just think that's so sad if he has. And I wish he'd at least meet his half sister that tried reaching out to him. Even though he doesn't owe his dad a damn thing, don't hold it against his other kids. But I know that's real easy for me to say, and I'm not in his position or know any specifics about the situation. I just think he'd feel a lot less lonely and isolated (if what he says on Fine Line is true--which I believe it is) if he had more family support. But again, I know nothing so I can't say anything for sure. |

I think she showed them off with some of his stuff in the documentary. I feel horrible but I think I actually own the documentary on DVD... I thought it was some BTS footage of him or something when I bought it lol |
