It’s crazy to me how often Royce posts on insta and he’s deff a narcissist - Denaun on the other hand comes across as super insecure and yet so full of it (no offence to either one but they aren’t as talented as they think they are and need to chill)! Paul is also weird but I suspect behind the scenes he isn’t spending much time with any of them - I don’t think he’s in a Britney S. situation but I do think he has several contractual agreements to complete before being let free!

LOL well the main thing is how open Em's life was before and during his drug years. Not open to the public, but...just all these PEOPLE. Local scenesters, their friends and friends of friends, Proof and Em's boys from growing up, groupies, yes men, drug dealers, and at this point Kim is still very much a central figure in his life...Paul was there but so were a lot of people. Royce was there but they weren't great friends and they have their falling out around this time. At some point after rehab there was a Great Housecleaning. His entourage went from what seemed like the entire Detroit battle rapper population to what it is today. Paul shifted into his role as Gatekeeper/Daddy. Kim was gone. Proof was gone. All these people who surrounded him are just gone and the shift in his career, his look, his voice, his flow was taking place at this time. How did he feel? What must it have been lile for his life to go from all that chaos and noise and drug use to a quiet house sober and alone with his thoughts? Yes he and Kim were toxic af but they really loved each other and I imagine while he was on drugs he never properly mourned her. Matty, I agreed with you a lot about Recovery being somebody else's baby but at the same time I feel like we see a lot of his internal thought processes from this unique moment in his life on that album. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall. To see that tipping point shift from all those people to the isolated "bubble" Em of today. It was all in flux and it could have gone in a lot of ways, good and bad, and it landed at this opposite extreme of the spectrum. I question who is let in now and who lets them in...people like Royce and (at one time) Joe. How Paul picks and chooses who gets keys to the castle. How he handles what I am coming more and more to think of as a de facto, less abusive conservatorship than Britney's. The dynamic of Em's career and personal life is so blurred and unique, even relative to other icons and superstars. I find myself rooting for his friendship with 50...someone who has his own money and success and is not dependent on Em the brand like Paul and others. I do wonder about a girlfriend, obviously he hasn't been celibate all these years but how is it possible we've never seen ANYONE? Does Paul control that too? I swear man if I ever meet a genie one of my wishes will be to become invisible and follow Em around, not so much to Stan but because I want to see how his life works. You know Britney: On the Record has all these moments that in hindsight show she was in a messed up situation? I want some Stan to comb through old Em interviews for similar revealing moments. But being Em they were probably scrubbed or never aired. |

Yeah it surprised me that Em was still close to Hush up into 2006....though we don't know why Em stopped seeing him...he could have been helping Em get pills for all we know. He didn't seem too concerned when Proof showed concern. He was like "welp he's with Dre...what can I do?" idk made me side eye him a bit. But the other side of it its not like Paul gave two shits either...Proof really was the true one (which I still find proofs death confusing/eerie). Also I always assumed that Biz and Em were closer back in the day in comparison to Denaun buts now this interview confirmed it. I wish they were still close but it does appear that Biz struggles a lot with drugs and maybe Em just can't be around that. I would love for Em to be friends with non rapper folks. Like Anthony Mackie..I follow on instagram and he seems like such a fun and cool dude. Like you said Em needs confident people that don't need anything from him around him. Just a friend to laugh about fame and stupid stuff and not be worried that they are going to shade him just so ppl can say they are the better rapper or what not and then use him for publicity or start stupid drama on social media and involve Em into it because it will get you more attention some how. Same with Jake Gyllenhall- Em seemed to vibe with him so well. Why can't they hang out-post some selfies just chilling you know? And yes 50 is the best. He takes no bullshit and you can tell every time he sees Em he just beelines towards him and forgets about everyone else in the room lol. That man would walk through fire for Em for real and never uses Em for clout. Ever. I do think they def cleaned house after his break down/over dose. Which okay - I get it; to be sober you have to make changes to your social circle but holy shit they really took it too far. I feel like celebs like Anthony or LL Cool J hint at the fact that it was hard to get to him after he got sober. And as much as I don't fully trust Hush's intentions he did look legitimately hurt when he said he hadn't seen Em since 2006. Not even a closure phone call? He still hangs with Bizarre I noticed on instagram...idk its odd. Anyway did Paul just chose Denaun and Royce because they are Paul's yes men? Denuan seems easily manipulated; just stroke his ego and he will do what you say and Royce is an opportunist. So both really just care about Paul being happy and not Em tbh. Also remember that interview from a while back when they asked about Em going on the internet and Paul was like "he has an iPad now..." Im like okay did Daddy Paul give him permission?" I know Stans laugh about Em not having an iPhone for a long time but if you look at it now its very Britney Spearish....I mean fans for a while thought everything was for her own good and now its like bang! they really let the public see what they want you to see. Its scary. And fans tease Em for being a hermit with no technology skills but now I'm like wtf? Em is only a year younger than Paul and they treat him as if he isn't a grown man. Even Denaun is like "yep he knows nothing about phones! hahahaha!!" trying to make it a joke with fans but idk - this Britney situation is making me side eye shit. Like trying to make it a running meme/joke so fans don't side eye it. Anyway I think Em is craving social interaction lately. Like during the tape interview with with Zane Lowe you could tell he wanted to keep chatting and zane had to make it clear it was the last tape and I swear Em looked legit sad when ending the convo. Or when he was talking to Pete Davidson...yeah it could have been that Pete was just nervous but I just have a sneaky suspicion that Em's team made sure it was short as fuck and Pete maybe felt bad so he said that he was just nervous publicly so Em didn't think anything of it. I could just see Em chatting along happy and Pete being like "lol got to go!" and hanging up on Em. And lets not even get started on the number of interviews Paul shut down early while Em was practically mid sentence. ITS SO WEIRD! No other celeb (besides maybe britney) does that happen to. Yeah Em is a little socially awkward when talking to people; but he seems to have ALWAYS been that way and then add to him being trapped in a bubble the past 15ish years? Thats just gonna make it worst. But honestly most celebs/fans etc find it endearing. Em is just an endearing /interesting person to talk to in general. And Paul needs to let his guard down and let Em be Em. Stop trying to sell us this Recovery bullshit Em u manufactured in 2010. Em isn't that. And its not why the MAJORITY of his fans like him. Em is weird/quirky/unpredictable yet predictable lol. He is such a unique guy and fans miss his random ass. |

I watched the whole 2 hours yesterday on and off, so I can't remember specifics. I just remember as I was watching it, here's another guy wanted to take a piece of Em's success. Hush talking about he did this for Em and he did that and he broughthim here and he brought him there...it just reminds me of the really, really old documentaries of Em's family and even an old boyfriend of his mom's wanting to take credit for Em - like his name Eminem. I remember his uncle and an old bf of his mom's both saying they were the one that gave him the idea of his rap name M&M. I was like WHAT?1?1
There are just so many people around Em back in the day that want a piece of credit for his success. They all seem to be upset and resentful that Em was much more successful than them and it seems like Hush and others think he owes them.
Maybe I'm wrong, I mean Hush did say that Em offered to sign him and he turned it down, but there still seemed to be some resentment I picked up on from him. Maybe it's because he hasn't seen him in 15 years. I don't know.
He is another person to verify that Kim was super jealous of the attention Em got and would pick fights with him on purpose to make her the center of attention. Poor Kim...I hope she has battled her demons because she was one messed up person back in the day.

Woo interesting interview! Thanks!👏🏻 Despite all, Em helped this guy in the past and thanks to him he got a record deal which was a dream come true. Who knows why Em cut him off, but I don’t think Em likes that people close to him spills private information about his private life..
On Kim:
It looks to me that both were super possessive of each other and that was a bad thing, however Hush also said that after that fight, he made just the 2 of us and later performed just the 2 of us in front of her cause she was in the audience and she loved it and was supporting him.
So, it looks like no matter what happened between them, it feels like they promised each other that they would remain friends no matter what. Em still considers her nephews, his nephews, let them come to his mansion, built mansion for her in 2013; so it feels like Em never cut her off despite they divorced for good in 2006.
Like she said in her 2015 interview, he was there for her when she went through her depression after her suicide attempt.
That says a lot of Em’s loyalty and unconditionally towards the people he truly wants to keep near.
