-I think in the interview he did the NY Times to promote Southpaw he mentioned needing to slow down his flow, which is an acknowledgement that what he was doing wasn't working. -The Phenomenal video was exclusive to Apple Music for three months before it was posted to YouTube. I don't know why artist agree to those "exclusives". It only benefits the company with the exclusive and not the artist. Artist want as many people listening to their music as possible. Why are they agreeing to limit that number? Because they get paid shit ton amounts of money... However Em on this case did it for Dr Dre & Jimmy Iovine as money is his last concern now. Kanye West also did it with Tidal because he is co-owner.

Just read Lollapalooza paid Em $11 Million. You have the source for that? I'd like to read the article. Holy crap. $11 million for 3 shows? That's insane. He's got to be the highest paid act for the event, but that still blows my mind. No wonder he felt like he'd done his job for the year, haha. That and 2 weeks non-stop media presence. Guess he figured he'd get it all out of the way for the year in one fell swoop. Unfortunately that doesn't do much to make the fans happy (since March)...

Agree, that's so crazy, like $3.6 million per concert, No wonder he refused the Superbowl when they didn't meet his $2 Mi demand. didn't find article, but I read it from this video (so not sure how authentic):

The stats seem pretty accurate so it's probably true. It was hard to read everything that fast though, Lol.

He was never offered the gig and never agreed to one.

At least he's got the work ethic to match his pay grade, haha. There are no lazy concerts done by our Em. He throws every ounce of himself into those performances. No lip syncing or making the audience do sing alongs. He never stops moving onstage. I don't think audiences or hosts are ever disappointed, but still... $11 million for 3 shows.
He's certainly still a hot commodity which makes me as a Stan proud, Lol.

I was right up front at The Monster concert in Detroit and EM definitely has his lyrics tapped in through his ear buds and he raps over them; so he doesn't forget a word. And, you could tell a couple of his songs, if not all, were playing in the background as he would sometimes move, and not sing or mouth the words, but the words and song played on. He doesn't lip sync, but he does have help. But he does jump around like an Energizer Bunny and puts everything he's got into his performance. A consummate pro!

Yeah, I do think it would be unreasonable to expect him to do 2+ hours of nonstop rapping and jumping around the stage without some help. It looks to me he raps most of the time though with Denaun filling in words at the end of the lines. And he doesn't sing or rap the hooks. But when neither he nor Denaun rap the words elsewhere, you can tell. There's a background track playing, but it's not very loud.

There is no way they could not do it. Think about it. Could you do aerobics for 2 hours straight and sing/rap non-stop the entire time? I know I can't. and I dont' know anyone who could. Do you remember his performance at the Concert of Valor or whatever for the troops and he was out of breathe? I think what happened is he didn't have the back up and after a couple of minutes got winded. This is why performers use the back up. I don't mind as long as they aren't lip syncing the whole time. I would rather an occasional lyric from a back up than listen to him wheeze through most of the concert.

I can tell you that when I saw Adele in September she needed no help from any device. Mind you, she's not rapping...LOL! And talks, talks, talks, between songs so it's not like she non-stop singing, but she was an incredible force of pure nature. Woman's got lungs!

Pretty sure he was sick. He was going hoarse after the first song. He didn't really seem out of breath; he was jumping around onstage like crazy--probably trying to make up for the loss of his voice, Lol.

Do keep in mind though, that Em's performance at the Concert for Valor was pretty personal to him, as well. It could be that it took a lot out of him. Ronnie was a veteran before he took his own life. Also, he closed the show, so more than likely his voice might have been strained from maybe singing along with the previous artists.
Also, he managed to be the ONLY performer at the concert who acknowledged the veterans who didn't make it home, or were no longer with us (some of that might have been in memory of Ronnie, too) but I probably remember that most of all due to my late fiance being a veteran, and it was a pretty heartfelt thing he did...it made me cry. It was probably one of my favorite performances he's ever done.
