I don’t think 50 likes SH in general He isn’t following any of them on social media Part of it is probably he sniffs they are opportunists and the other part is that he just really is possessive of Em. Not like in a clout chasing way though. More “he’s my best friend so back off.” I think I recall a story where he even seemed a tad jealous of hailie 😆 he just really loves Em Jmo tho |

Everyone says hiphop is a young mans game so why are they still trying to put on these middle aged men? I'm not trying to be mean, but these guys prime has come and gone. Em needs to be signing and working with young rappers. Signing Grip is a start...but he needs to be looking for someone Stevies or Hailie's age to work with. Innovators, no matter the sector, are always young. Once you have been working ling enough, you become "institutionalized". You get used to how things are done and stay within the boundries your industry has drawn. This is for any profession - scientist, engineers, artist, etc. When Em came on the scene, he became popular because there was no one like him before. He was also still in his 20s. I know he talks about how he works to innovate and try new things and come up with new ways to rhyme. But he is also 25 years into the game and has become "institutionalized". He works within the boundries the industry has and is reluctant to take a risk and move outside of it. He did try and got criticized for his "new" rapping style - when he was doing his start an stop raps. He retreated back to what he knows and is comfortable with. This is common and happens to everyone. It's the new, young guy that doesn't know anything so s/he is willing to take risk, mainly because at the time they weren't aware it was a risk. They are just doing what they want to do. Does this make sense? |
