So she confirms that his verse was a last minute addition. I hope he adds his own annotations, I love getting the songwriter's reasoning behind the lyrics.

Ever since the beginning, I felt like the message of the song would be more powerful as a duet, so just a few days before I had to turn in the album I let Marshall know my thoughts and asked if he wanted to give it a shot. I didn’t expect him to do it especially with he time restraint, but thought it was worth asking. A few days later he turned in the final mix/master with his verse on it. I had never heard his verse before we sent the album to print! At least some confirmation he's in the studio doing things.

This may seem a bit far fetch but this thought crossed my mind when people kept saying his verse was a bit of the same ole same ole. I wonder if he actually wrote this for her song or if it was just a verse he had in his box and thought "Oh that will work with this song!" and added it. LOL

I heard it a few more times to see if I begin to love it and nop, I like it tho don´t get me wrong but it´s just so...I don´t know...typical...I lik the rest of the songs I heard from the album but I expected more from this since Em is on it, I was thinking while listening to it: if Em made her change the lyrics from Come Up For Air because he thought those weren´t enough (and I´m glad he did), why would he settle with this song? I mean, I like the beat and most of the lyrics but there´s something about it makes me go through the whole song almost without notice it until Em´s verse kicks in and I suddenly pay attention I am going to be honest. I love the song but I love it because Em is on it and it is pretty much in my mind the closest thing we have to a true Em love song. Before this it was Crazy in Love and/or I love you more but to me those were like hit and miss on the love part. Maybe I need to go back and listen to them again because this could be the same song just told a different way LOL. I guess I never really considered them true "Love Songs" because I assumed them were about Kim and I just never felt they were a functional couple. The ultimate love song by Em, for me, it will always be "Searchin" because I know is about Kim

I'm inclined to think that he wrote his verse specifically for her song because it ties into her lyrics. Also, Em's perspective in that song is actually quite different from what we are used to hearing from him. Em usually takes on the wounded victim role in most of his love songs.

Maybe that is why I am so taken with it, he actually states she can trust her and he knows she has his back..and no one dies in the end or pushes someone else into a coffee table

This is the first Eminem song we've gotten in an entire year, and all it generates is less than one thread page?? Come on folks. This is sad. People are more interested in his solo work than his features. This is made worse by none of his features being sent or pushed at radio recently. His songs kinda only exist to his core audience. Like you'd have to be an Eminem fan to know that this song exists. That's kinda why there is less interest this song. I do like the song and I think it would do well if people heard it. Damn why is that? How am I a huge Eminem fan but never knew about that song until months later! That's crazy! I have to admit I'm not a big fan of his recent work so I guess I am not paying as much attention to his music releases but still... Love that song better than I thought I would. Not a fan of skylar, I agree with the lack of emotions but I love the retro vibes! Made me thought of "50 ways" at first. Wish Em would have come softer on the beat kind like on "50 ways" but I know it is not possible anymore lol. So yeah I like it.

Skylar's singing amazingly sounded good. I love Em's voice, flow, emotions, lyrics, and the fact we can hear him breathe. It's like the most natural sounding Em we've heard in a really long time. I hope he sounds like this on his new album.

True kat531 "the most natural sounding" is very accurate.
