I used to watch the same movies as a kid like Hocus Pocus, Tales from the Crip ohh God!! mind you I'm give away my old age lol I'm the youngest in my family so my sisters and brother didn't let me watch the Jason and Freddie movies so I had to sneak out and steal the vhs and I watched them in the morning it wasn't that scary I also remember a movie form the 80's about a creepy boy who talked with his teddy , and there was a creature he was hiding in a deep hole I don't recall the name but it freaked me out !!! What about you?

What about you? Oooooooooohhhh. There are so many. Horror is my favorite genre. Just a small sampling of favorites: Wholesome: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown * Hocus Pocus * Mad Monster Party * Nightmare Before Xmas Horror Classics: A Nightmare on Elm St * The Shining * Halloween * Poltergeist * Camp Classics: Scream * Creepshow * Tales From the Crypt * Child's Play * The Rocky Horror Picture Show * Evil Dead * Beetlejuice *Fright Night Modern Horror: The Witch * Hereditary * The Babadook * It Follows * Drag Me to Hell * 28 Days Later * The Ring There are so many more but I tried to leave it specifically to the ones I like to watch around Halloween. I also love the first Scary Movie but idk if that counts. I'm not a huge fan of the Rob Zombie-directed films and I also don't enjoy the found footage stuff (so no Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch Project, V/H/S for me). I don't like some of the super popular ones like Amityville and The Exorcist. Fight me. Honestly I could talk about this all day.

Most scary movies don’t scare tbh. Like I think the conjuring series are seriouslllly overhyped and saw was stupid as fuck. I like more slow psychological movies
the scream series was my jam growing up-they are a lot of fun and kind of iconic. I was terrified as a kid but now I just think they are really fun to watch. I think IT FOLLOWS was amazingly done (tho once u seen it it’s hard to be scared again watching it) and Silence is good. And the strangers was GREAT too . The newer IT movie was SO good. The one where their adults I love hocus pocus too
oh and Sixth sense is a classic!! Scared the shit out me when I was young. Not so scary now but so well done

I use to LOVE horror films in my teens, but now I feel like they are too scary, creepy and gory. I am more into thrillers now like Jordan Peele's "Get Out". I also liked Sixth Sense and films that had some mystery to it. I use to love the classics like Friday the 13th and Halloween. If I watch that now, I would never be able to go to sleep.

I love the oldies really but The Witch and Hereditary were really good!! I didn't like Midsommer though As for the Exorcist or those type of films I really can't watch them, I mean I know it may sound stupid lol but I come from a Catholic family, I hated going to Church and I don't really go anymore but my mom used to teach at Sunday schools and the Preist from our Church actually performed those kind of things like cleaning houses and he was often called to do exorcisms and my mom told us that after he went on those "trips" (it was kind of like a secret) he would stayed inside drinking for days mmm so nope I try to watch them but those stories freaked me out. Someone recommended me Pearl and X with Mia Goth , the same director , slasher movies I think like Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

I love horror! I don’t even really watch much other than horror. But I like the “old fashioned” ghost stories or psychological thrillers, not the gory stuff - that’s not scary, just disgusting. sparrow has a really good list! I also really liked e.g. Lights out and Mama.

Fabulous pumpkins everyone! Charlie Brown and Garfield’s Halloween are a must.
I like horror films. I was obsessed with them as a teen but now they seem like more gore than anything. I like the realistic ones. The situations that could really happen. The Strangers. The original Halloween. The first Friday the 13th film. Movies like that.
