I don’t know how to take that. Jeremy may or may not be going for Em there’s no telling he works with other artist too. Em and Snoop could very well be going to NY but won’t actually be at the show. They could perform at a nearby warehouse/building or wherever. I’m just trying to imagine them performing LIVE and how the NFT thing plays a part. Will they be there in person and perform but on TV we’ll see them as apes or is the Ape guy gonna be there like a mascot on stage while they perform? IDK I’ll just have to wait until Sunday If Snoop performs on stage at the VMAs and then Em is in a Detroit-like alternate reality filming at the same time from his studio I will have to be physically restrained. He might as well just call in on Zoom at that point. Hopefully it won't happen. He performs on stage in front of the audience, the cultural ape-propriation mascots dance around, he collects his award, we get pics. |

Why haven't Snoop and Marshall thought about that before aligning their brands with it, especially Snoop. He should know better. Ape are also derogatory for many African Americans, so it could be perceived wrong, even though I don't think that is the intention. |

Genuinely more interested in the fruit on the table than that stupid ape. I did a bored ape deep dive. So, the first thing I thought was weird is there aren't artists making them. There are 8 ape traits (fur, background color, mouth, clothing, etc) that get randomly generated by an algorithm. IMO that takes any soul out of the "art collecting" aspect of this, because no one put any heart or effort into making something special. It's less creative than bitmoji. Anyway, there are only 10,000 Bored Apes in existence and some of the traits are rare (basically shiny Pokemon), so those are the most expensive. The ONLY reason they have monetary value is because there are so little in existence and some good salespeople made it seem like having one makes you special, and to get one you have to use crypto. I guess you can sell it for more crypto to some rich follower and make more money. Woo. So maybe in 10 years Em will sell his bored ape and get a fuckton of money. It's a scam aimed at weak-minded rich people. And I was right, anyone can take a screenshot and have a bored ape but it's not orriiiiginal *block chain* and they're acting like this fucking stupid randomly generated image is like a Mona Lisa knock-off. Em, I love you but this is a bad look. |

They know us normal people would never or could never purchase these types of things so it’s almost like some "cool club" to be able to do it. Kind of like the Met Gala.
