They appear to actually be trying this time... It’s not a smash hit but it has a lot of longevity. It’s still trending on YouTube music and gets like a million hits a day Keep going this direction Em. Less rappity rap…

Annoying but he's probably used to much looser rules following around Snoop.

Yeah, this entire project was like part of the campaign for the Bored Ape NFT. Here's a screenshot from the website that Eminem's social profiles lead to: A 14"x14" image for $350. Isn't that the price they usually charge for his signed items? Then it says available to members only so they can get people to sign up so they can buy that ape picture. Obviously Yuga Labs has not done their research on Marshall or Snoop's audience and realize that is NOT their target audience. I'm guess 90% of Em and Snoop fans can't even afford to even buy the Ether they will need to participate in NFT transactions. Like, who is on their marketing team when they selected them to head a campaign. Sure they make it look fun with their music, but their audiences can't afford nor are they interested in NFTs. Reminds me when Louis Vuitton did an ad campaign with Jennifer Lopez then wonder why they had a spike in counterfeit bags for the collection she was the brand ambassador for. What did they think was going to happen? All of a sudden her target audience, which at the time were teens and early 20s were going to have $10K to drop on handbags? For Em and Snoop, I'm sure it's money in their pocket whether people sign up or not, unless they did some kind of compensation package that includes phantom equity. But goodness, I hope not!

The animation was not even well made :/ OMG THEY TOTALLY RIPPED OFF GORILLAZ. This was 14 years ago...check out the animated gorillas at 2:13: They even integrate the animation + live performers really well (and works for them) for concerts and presentations Virtual idols already exist and give full concerts, like Hatsune Miku: It all depends on the quality of the animation,it all looks very low quality like the animators didn't have enough time for that video. The models look like something you'd find in some 2000's videogames :/

This was 14 years ago...check out the animated gorillas at 2:13: The animation looks like something you'd see for kids on Nickelodeon. Low-budget, flat, not very creative. Also, I get it's Bored Ape but maybe they shouldn't look literally so bored that they'd rather be doing anything else. Almost dead. Whatever you think about Em, he is hyper engaged when he performs. I know I need to move on but I am stuck on how horrible this was. It's nice there are some new pics but "watch Em perform (kind of) and then catch him on the way to the car" is a breadcrumb too stale even for me.

(Writer commentary: For sure, the performance is certainly nothing on the level of Fortnite’s epic Ariana Grande or Dillon Francis concerts.) “I wish we got to see more of Eminem and Snoop without the cartoon effects,” one person lamented in the YouTube comments." slate.com/technology/2022/08/snoop-dogg-eminem-mtv-vmas-apes-metaverse-why.html"But … why? I don’t know! And clearly, Eminem fans don’t really know either, considering how unhappy comments on the rapper’s subreddit were following the VMAs. (One representative post reads, “First time in years i’ve seen everyone on here agree on one thing. This NFT shit he’s doing is straight up ass.”) Bored Ape evangelists loved it, though, and are hoping this means still more integration of real life with metaverse apes to come. They may also be hoping that this provides a boost to NFT sales, which have been flagging all year, causing Bored Ape values to plunge despite the brand’s celebrity links." www.theverge.com/2022/6/24/23181936/bayc-eminem-snoop-dogg-yuga-labs-nft"The rappers’ NFTs were both acquired via third parties in December, near the time prices for Bitcoin and Ethereum’s most recent peaks. In a deal executed by the digital agency Six, it cost 123.45 ETH to obtain Eminem’s Bored Ape #9055. At the time, that was worth about $460,000 but it’s now equivalent to around $150,000."
