Hey, me, I turned you on to Red Velvet and a lot of cake that got me. How macabre or not is your graduation party?

Hey, me, I turned you on to Red Velvet and a lot of cake that got me. How macabre or not is your graduation party? I haven't even dared tell my mom what I've planned for my graduation, because she'll be paying some of it, so in hopes that she doesn't lurk here, kidding, she doesn't, I have planned to make - cream cake with mocha and vanilla filling, with caramel on top - cream cake with cocoa and lime filling, with blackberries on top - lemon & lime cheesecake, with strawberries and blueberries (mandatory when my mom is present!) - rhubarb pie with almond "tosca" on top (caramelized almond slices) - chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and lemon cupcakes with lemon frosting - caramel cookies with chocolate And then I was hoping to make something more salty and food-y, but since my guest list is starting to reach 40 people I might have to skip that, but I was thinking: - muffins with fetacheese, onions and rosemary (maybe sundried tomatoes) -potato salad - leek pie - puff pastry with goat cheese and basil on top - fruit skewers - tomato/olive salad with cherry tomatoes, black olives, caper, salt and basil

I saw this recipe yesterday and it looked amazing, easy and quick and I´m doing it:
crush meringue into a cooking removable mold mix cold milk cream with condensed milk and one lemon juice and its zest then pour the cream on top of the meringue and freeze for 3 hours finally put some chocolate zest (black and white chocolate) on top

And this is like my fav food for when it´s cold (it´s almost winter here so):
1 cup of carnaroli rice 4 spoons of olive oil 1 garlic clove 1 chop onion 200gr mushrooms 50gr dried fungi/mushrooms 1/2 cup white wine 2 spoons of butter 1/2 cup of sardinian cheese vegetables soup (as needed) salt, pepper and parsley (as needed)
Start with the oil, the chop garlic and the onion in a pan. Add the mushrooms and the rice. After 2 minutes, pour the wine and turn the fire a little bit down. Then pour slowly the vegetables soup as needed and spice as much as you want.
I´m into cooking lately

I love a good leek pie. Why not make a Frittata? If I'm honest I hadn't even heard of frittata, I had to google it! It sounds great, but I might have to skip all savory stuff anyway. I have to see how many RSVP I get! Mmm, I could start baking today, but the party will be june 5th so maybe Iwon't start yet

Anything you can bake in advance and freeze...Go for it! I mentioned a Frittata because you mentioned Leek Pie. If your guests are drinking, and I would think they would be, and you are serving more sugar than a savory then the savory may cut through their delirium!!

They'll get champagne obviously, but I think it'll be more coffee and cake. But I'd really love to try those muffins, I've never made them before. And people graduate high school june 4th, so the day before my party, and I've already gotten orders from people to bake for those parties, so I'll be baking that day too I'm just wondering where I'm gonna store everything. I would have to rent an extra fridge or something lol!

OK here's a bad pic of my birthday cake. I didn't even have time to take a pic before my relatives had eaten half of it, lol! Anyways, instead of making two different cakes, I made a "50/50" cake, with two halves of different cakes. The blue half had one layer cocoa filling and one layer lime filling, and the red one had one layer mocha filling and one layer vanilla filling. The lime filling was really fresh, but both cakes were good. And I have to post a pic of my weird, cool sparkling wine I got for my bday, that we're opening now First it's clear, then if you shake it carefully, it turns orange, and looks like nail polish, or smoke or something! So cool! Here's before and after:
I googled it and there are at least 3 different colors.

Thank you!! I had a great day! The sparkling wine was pretty nice, it only has 5.5% alcohol, lol, and was pretty sweet but that's good for me because I don't really like the taste of champagne/sparkling wine. Psychologically it feels a bit thicker because of its look, lol, but I think it's normal sparkling wine

Happy B'day, me! Those cakes look stupendous and the place settings look lovely. You're right, that sparkling wine has a pearly sheen to it like nail polish. Happy! Happy! Enjoy your special day!
