There is nothing to indicate that he is not doing well. The fact that he's booked for performances in the summer and he's about to release another album are all positive signs. I don't think he'd be planning anything public if he was going through something bad.

I worry because I've never known him to be so completely mute, uncommunicative, unproductive, and invisible for such a long period since I started following him closely. Not to get you all worried again, but it just feels like something is wrong. Of course I only started following him closely in 2014, so I don't really know if he's had periods like this before--when he seemingly hasn't done a thing. I just can't imagine why he'd suddenly go from Mr. Workaholic to doing seemingly nothing for a good year and a half. Even Kxng Crooked just said in his freestyle "I feel like Shady Records is a page torn out." He's the only artist on the label who has been somewhat real about the state of SR. The only things that make me feel better are: He did announce he was working on an album, he has concerts lined up for August, and physically he still looks healthy--from what we can tell from that one photo we've gotten of him since last August.

I just pathetically tweeted at Royce and Paul to see if he would just let us know if he is okay Doubt they will even read it but my mind is playing games on me 😢 Unfortunately Paul stopped responding to fans completely on twitter and Instagram more than a year ago. And Royce isn't going to say anything about how Em is doing either. But Royce does read all the tweets directed towards him it seems--although he probably doesn't reply to most of them. And the guys from D-12 just get super annoyed if they're asked about Em. Of course his family doesn't talk about him either. And forget Eminem himself. So there you have it. Ain't nobody, and I mean nobody, is saying a word about Em and how he's doing.

Kendrick is dropping a new album on April 7th. And we have no idea what's going on.. What's your take on Em's hiatus? Do u think he is okay? Please be the voice of reason 😿 I think he's fine personally, so much of his lifestyle is designed to keep him clean. Insulated from any temptation. I'm sure there has been setbacks at some points in the past nine years, but I think he's surrounded himself with a better crowd. Certainly a team that's more aware of addiction and mental health issues. Professionally, they play everything so damn close to the vest that it's hard to tell what is going on. Maybe he's struggling to find a new direction or maybe he's just taking his time. I would find it weird if Paul made that tweet in October if they were still a year away. He's had success in May/June so I think it's possible. If not, there just gonna repeat the schedule they did last time.

I did not think he was fine in 2005-2007 especially after he announced that he went to rehab and after Proof's death. Back then there were so many red flags like his behavior on the set of Smack That, the Alaina incident, the weird Shade 45 interviews, the weight gain... He seemed fine at Drake's concert which was not too long ago. I did think he sounded weird during that Hanukkah special but I attribute that to him being completely focused on his project and not having a lot of social interactions. I don't like that we have not heard anything about the new album so close to the supposed summer release but I think they figured at this point they don't need a lot of promotion to sell records or concert tickets so there is no need for teasers or any communication at all. We know that his stuff will be trending the minute it gets released. He probably values his peace and quiet so much that he wants to prolong that feeling for as long as he can before all eyes are on him again.

I've stopped trying to figure him out. I don't see major warning signals like before, which were everything nelly mentioned. And it's perfectly reasonable if he wants to be a 44-year-old man who earned his wealth and doesn't want to deal with the trappings of success more than he absolutely has to. That said....do I really think he hasn't had a single pain pill since his initial sobriety date? Not really. He might be struggling a bit without it being a full blown, death-is-imminent relapse. Also, we all know Em is a little paranoid. I think sometimes he goes so overboard with being low key that it winds up drawing attention. It's not his style, but if he just posted some dumb pictures of coffee or food or whatever on social media it would alleviate so much speculation.

I doubt he has taken any pain killers or Valium or anything else since his sobriety date because he has far too good of insight about addictions and recovery to do that. He knows that one pill will lead to the next and the next and next until he's right back onto full addiction. When you're an addict you can't dabble at all. If he has taken a pill or two since his initial sobriety date, he likely did relapse back into full fledged addiction. And I don't believe that has happened. I think it's more likely for him to be in the throes of depression or an eating disorder than that. Or perhaps he really has been working on an album or just collecting cassettes (my personal theory) this whole time. I honestly think he's done being famous. And I'm not so sure he's done an ounce of work since he went off the radar 1.5 years ago. It doesn't take this long to create an album. I mean, Royce is about to put out his 3rd album since Shady XV came out--and Royce isn't that much younger than Em.

He does eat painkiller pills, his interviwers have described him having Aleve (or whatever it's called) on his desk, so I guess he can eat naproxen and ibuprofen and other over the counter pills, as long as he doesn't use a prescription level dosage of them. I guess he's not addicted to naproxen and ibuprofein while I wouldn't want him to use e.g. a cough suryp containing codein, since codein is found in many strong pain killers and very addictive. Just a side note...

I'm not saying he has. I think he has a better chance than most tbh because he is so obsessive that he throws himself into everything he does--music, doing drugs (for a time), working out, and now health and recovery. But something like 92% of opiate addicts relapse or think about using. Which means you speak to your sponsor/counselor or whatever and recommit to your program of choice, all of which would for sure tell him to remove the potential triggers from his life. Again, I'm not saying he has, I have no clue, and I'm more inclined to think he's just doing what he feels like because he can. Just speculating, is all.

Just a side note... Big difference is though that OTC pills like Aleve and Ibuprofen aren't addictive or narcotics. Doesn't matter how many of them you take--you're not going to get high off of them. But they are! We talked a lot about it during our pharmachology courses that people think like that, when they actually are addictive. At least ibuprofen. It might not get you high, like your stronger painkillers, but it can most definitively be addictive. And there are actually a lot more ibuprofen addicts than people would think. Of course they're not like vicodin, but wrong kind of use can be very bad. We actually have 100, 200 and 400 mg ibuprofen as OTC pills, anything stronger is a prescription pill here. And then substances like paracetamol aren't addictive maybe, because for me it doesn't ever remove pain, but one tiny overdose of it can be fatal. That's not the case with ibuprofen or naproxen tho. The worst with regular ibuprofen use is that they are really bad for your stomach. Excessive use causes ulcers, which is why I don't want Em to use it, since he already talked about ulcers and eating all the time to avoid ulcers, he should stay away from naproxen and ibuprofen. I have to say, we had a speaker here from the US that talked about drug addiction, and she said that you have so many problems with addiction to strong prescription pills there, like vicodin, that you often don't even see the risks with using "easier" ones like ibuprofen. As for finland, we don't have pills like vicodin here, we have paracetamol, and if that doesn't help they try ibuprofen, and if that doesn't help and you need something stronger you get a prescription for ibuprofen, lol. I mean here if that doesn't work you basically get iv morphin or codein in a hospital, lol. So here we get to see ibuprofen addiction a lot more closer that you do. I guess? So I'm sorry, no offense, but I was almost amazed by your reply. I mean we just have so many people struggling here with that addiction, it is a real problem, just as serious as any other pill addiction. As it is over there, according to this speaker, it's just overshadowed by your stronger prescription pill problems. And I don't wanna put ideas into anyone's head - Em is NOT addicted to ibuprofen or naproxen, I think he's using them like you should and not playing around with them. I'd just be worried about his stomach, IF I'd be worried, but I'm not, because he's fine

If you take too much it can be harmful like any medication can be. But people don't crave it, it doesn't alter your mood, it is not addictive, it has no street value, etc. That is why you don't need a prescription for it. Maybe you are defining an "addiction" differently than we do here?
