Rick Rubin was the executive producer on MMLP2. Dre was the executive producer on previous albums. The executive producer guides the direction of the album and picks which songs make the final cut. Which leads me to ask, who do you think should executive produce Em's next album? Should he go back to Rick or Dre? Someone new?
If I had to guess, I think he goes back to Dre. But I'm hoping he'll go with Emile Haynie, who I think Em has done some of his best work with. Maybe Just Blaze because he'll be a tough critic.

Dre is his classic producer, but lately Em has changed a lot his style from his classic style so maybe Emile AND Just Blaze would be a good pick

i wonder if em would ever consider doing a visual album kind of like beyonce did for lemonade. funny you should bring that up because I just saw some people on another forum speculation about the same thing. I would love it if he did a visual album like beyonce's that would mean lots of musicvideos . But for some reason I have a feeling Em is not that crazy about making musicvideos

Well if you watch some of the behind the scenes videos he has done. It does look like he's having fun. But then when I think about a video like guts over fear, he is barely in that video. It didn't look like he wanted to do that video. So I wonder if he would like doing 15 music videos for just one album

If Beyoncé can do it so can u haha

Yeah, I don't think he wanted to be in that one. I think it was filmed right around the time when social media jumped all over him for looking "old" and that his face was "ruined by drugs." When in actuality, he'd just gotten way too thin and had a horrible make up job. But I don't think he wanted to show his face to the world at that time. Plus I wonder if he thought his career really was coming to an end at that time. But I'm with matty on this one. I think he normally really, really enjoys doing music videos. He likes acting and doing impersonations. He's such a dramatic little dude Lol that music videos suit his personality. :-D And I think he does come up with most of the ideas himself. I think he pretty much write the one for Phenomenal. It's totally him.

I'm on the "he enjoys it" train. He seems to get excited about the FX and I think he really enjoys acting in small capacities. Remember the MTV award skit he did when he was running away from an explosion? The behind the scenes thing for that was one of the happiest times I've ever seen him.

I remember dre said that every time they dressed em in a costume he would stay in character until they took him out of it haha. Course that was back in the day when em was still pretty extreme but I think he still enjoys it

He's a ham for the camera In fact I think music videos are like the main promo he actually enjoys doing lol. He sure doesn't like interviews

But one of the reason why I think he might not like doing videos, is because he is so self-conscious. Well maybe he does like making the video, but he is just so afraid of what people might say about him when they watch the videos afterwards that it really takes away the joy of making them.

I never got that sense with his music videos but I definitely got that sense with his music. Probably one of the reasons he plays it safe with it lately and rarely puts it out. That's the sense I'm getting anyway
