I saw that its depressing the crap out of me but I guess if Em doesn't care maybe we shouldn't and just take the album for what it is I feel conflicted, because always just wanted to have Em make the music he is inspired to make. And to that it extent it seems like this album is definitely him making an artistic statement. WOW is like nothing else on the radio. The rollout seems very no frills, like he's saying that he just wants us to judge by the music. However, I didn't necessarily want him to want him to abandon all promotional norms. Treating the promo like it's a murder mystery is worse than no promo at all. But in the grand scheme of things I don't care if the promo is weird if he's releasing the album he wanted to make, a true artistic statement. Maybe something a little weird. |

Is this all he said about Em or is the full episode available online? I'm sooo excited for that interview!! I want it now! I'd love to hear an audio interview between Em and Elton because I think Em would be super relaxed and could really be himself but still open up a bit more to Elton than to other interviewers. |

But within that there are many possibilities. I don't know if they had enough time to assess that WOW wasn't going to do that well before pushing it back. Maybe Universal got cold feet about a surprise release and wanted a more conventional release. That being said there still isn't a music video and they haven't put out another single, so it's still a bit unconventional. I don't think that having a song with Beyonce that didn't do well would lead someone to want to make a song with Rihanna. |

I like Die Antwoord but they seem very sensitive to any attention. Im not even sure if Em's line is intended as a call out, a diss or just for rhyming sake but looks like they see it as a big fat Diss
Their recent album was a bit shit sadly

Neill Blomkamp did one of my favorite movie's "District 9" and, if anyone other than me remembers, Neill wanted EM to star in it. EM would've, but only if they filmed it in D-Town. Blomkamp wouldn't bend and neither would EM. Rest is history, but I'm sure EMs a big fan of the movie.

I had no idea Em was supposed to star in this. I like how he tries to keep work in his town. Interesting history- thanks for the post. I sure would love to see Em do a sci-fi or comedy movie! |

Wasn't a big fan of the movie 'cause it was like Blomkamp went "studio." I remember when I was watching it I thought...Hmmm, EM was smart to pass on this one! All of this came to me while I was at the movies today watching "The Disaster Artist." Now, that's a whole other thread!
