We don't have a general thread for just news articles about Em, so I thought I'd start one. I'll start it off with this one: Two Michigan music stars on different sides of the political aisle drew very different reactions during Wednesday's Detroit Pistons game. Eminem and Kid Rock both appeared on the JumboTron during the game against the Charlotte Hornets. While the crowd cheered for Eminem, they booed when Kid Rock appeared, according to the Detroit Free Press. Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy noticed the difference in reception. ”Without making a statement, they were able to make a statement,” he said of the crowd's response, according to the news outlet. Van Gundy has been a critic of President Trump, calling the president "openly and brazenly racist and misogynistic" and slamming his travel ban as "fear-mongering." Eminem and Kid Rock — real names Marshall Mathers and Robert Ritchie, respectively — have both been in the political eye lately. Eminem made waves with a viral rap that tore into Trump and said “f--- you” to fans of his who support the president. And Ritchie, a vocal Trump supporter, has flirted with a bid for Senate. He's considered a popular pick to challenge the state’s Democratic senator, Debbie Stabenow. Both artists, despite their vastly different political views, grew up in the same politically charged Michigan county, as Politico reported.

See, it's people like this that Em stays in hiding. That has got to be some creepy ass shit. I wouldn't call that 'art", i would call it unstable. can you imagine if you were famous and people did this? you would never come out of your home either.

Why hasn't Trump responded to Eminem? via Billboard: LinkI am shocked he didn't respond, which I think Em is too. I think he was hoping Trump would respond. I was hoping he would respond and was disappointed when he didn't because you know Em would have come back with something even more savage. But I don't know if I believe it's because Trump is afraid of him and more that his staff took his twitter away from him and wouldn't let him respond. There was a lot of truth in most of what Em had to say, and Trump usually goes after people where he has some wiggle room to reframe the issue or when he thinks he really has been misrepresented. It would be hard for him with what Em said. I have noticed Trump has been laying off his twitter some. I mean, he's still using it but not as much in the past. Maybe he's finally listening to his staff or maybe they play "hide the electrical devices from Trump". I read yesterday where he said if it wasn't for Twitter, he would have never won the election. Which there is probably some truth. And that would explain why he uses it so much.

Not surprising given that Em has leaned more towards a "rock" sound mixed with hip hop.

But Black Sabbath's the "King of Heavy Metal" which is far removed from "rock." Headbangers! Read the article yesterday and really wish EM would weigh in on stuff like this because it's so funny! EM always said he was into '80s rock, but I truly wonder who his fav groups/artists were.

I'm glad they won and set another precedent against the stealing of music from artists. I also like what they say about the song (Lose Yourself) in the article: In assessing damages, the judge agreed with Eminem's team that "Lose Yourself" is the "jewel in the crown" of the rapper's catalog, a "high value song" that can fetch premium licensing fees.
"Lose Yourself" is Eminem's signature song and biggest hit, having topped Billboard's Hot 100 for 12 weeks in 2002-2003 while also winning the Academy Award for best original song. It ranked No. 10 in Detroit's 100 Greatest Songs, a 2016 Free Press project based on voting by music experts and the public.

I always thought November Rain had an eminem-esque quality to it.

This article from the Daily Mail says Em didn't even know he had sued NZ political party. A spokesman for the rapper said he did not initiate the lawsuit which was initiated in 2014. ‘Eminem was not a party to this lawsuit nor was he consulted regarding the case,’ he said. ‘Any monetary settlement he receives from it will be donated to hurricane relief. ‘He encourages the plaintiffs, Eight Mile Style, to do the same.’
