Em has written all of his songs. And he's always the "first author". I mean I know Ne-Yo has written songs that he has sent to person 1, who declined, and then sent it to person 2, who also declined, and after that Rihanna has gotten the song and accepted it. But Em has written all his songs himself. Especially the early songs are so personal they can't be written by anyone else than Em. Also, with all Em's songs, he's got such a unik style and rhyming skill, I don't think anyone else COULD write songs for him on his own level. On the contrary he has ghost written for other rappers.

No, I meant there has been other people writing songs with him, like Mike Elizondo (I think that's his name). With this, I wasn't sure if Em would be pay as the main song writer or is it divided between everyone involved in the song writing process? Em's name appears everywhere, including the skits, but in the CD booklets I also see other names and I don't know if they co-wrote the songs or maybe produced a beat or edited the sound or something else...even tho at the end appears "produced by.... mixed by...."

Like so:
I always thought the names between the ( ) were the people who wrote the song....is it that way? (by the way, I see I was wrong about The Way I Am hehe, must had some other song in my head)
Was I wrong? what indicates the names between ( ) ??

Yeah between those ( ) are the songwriters, but the songwriters are basically everyone who is in the room when a song is written. If we still has Rihanna as the example, in her song Hard she says this
"Never lyin', truth teller That Rihanna reign, just won't let up All black on, blacked out shades Blacked out Maybach"
So sometimes it's enough for her to put her own name in there and she'll be added to the ( ) in the booklet. Unless the song was specially written for her with her name already there.
So if Dre comes and tells Em the label wants him to change this one line, maybe to this instead, he could be added to the songwriters. It doesn't have to be the lyrics either, if Luis Resto has come up with some part of how the melody should be played, he'll be added to the songwriters. At least this is how I've understood it from once reading how the songwriting works.
Oh and who gets paid what is so individual to every label and every team. A band with 5 members can decide to split the income to 5 so everyone gets as much. Or some bands the songwriter (like one band member) gets paid a bigger share or maybe get everything that has with songwriting to do. Now of course there's a lot more than just being a songwriter on how to get paid.

Oh and of course there are songs like Sing For The Moment that's written by (S.Tyler, M.Mathers, J.Bass, L.Resto, S.King) where Steven Tyler comes first because Em used Aerosmith's Dream on, written by Tyler. Then idk, maybe Luis Resto and Jeff Bass came up with the music, and I think Steve King does the recording and stuff, so they'll be added there too.
And Em's team has asked Taylor's team if they could use Dream On, and maybe Taylor's team said they can use it if Taylor gets 100% of the income for the somgwriting, or 50%?? Whatever they agreed on. And then Em and his team has agreed on who gets how much for which song.

I think the people listed between the () are anyone who contributed to the creation of lyrics and/or music.

That is why some people give Beyonce so much grief because they say (rumor) she will go in and change one word and get a songwriters credit.
