Ok I have a question in case anyone knows, since I know nothing about streaming and how streams are counted etc. If I make a playlist on spotify (free version, so no offline plays) and I pick my favorite songs from Revival to this playlist, Em will still get paid everytime I listen to those songs, right? And are those listens counted to the amount of times Revival is streamed? I mean does it make a difference for Em if I play his songs from a playlist I've made myself or from his Revival album playlist?

400K in first week sales is not huge, especially for Eminem. This is a guy that moved 1.5M units first week of sales easily. I know most people buy songs or stream their music now, but it can be done. Taylor Swift and Adele have both done it. I guess that is still good considering how long he's been around. I was just hoping for more. Would have been nice if it was at least 750-1M.

I believe the reviews on "Revival" are mixed. There are no hit singles...Like "Love The Way You Lie," I'm Not Afraid," etc. The initial releases of "WOW" and "Untouchable" didn't exactly (no pun intended) wow anyone! Or, break sales records. I'm sure "Revival" will be a million+ seller worldwide but, to me, some of the songs just don't sound fresh (I'll blame Rubin), more like a rehash. And, even though EM seems to be seething about Trump, he's still spitting about Kim, his daughter, etc. Only it's the now "I'm sorry" version. Whatever. If EM does some shows in the US, especially DTown, I'm so there! My personal opinion is is that EM is going to perform less-and-less in the public eye, so I'm on the next plane...

My understanding is that if you are a paid subscriber to a streaming service (Apple, Spotify, Tidal, etc) and you listen to a Eminem song on the platform he will be paid regardless of what playlist it's on.

Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200, Huncho Jack Debuts at No. 3... Eminem's Revival falls from No. 1 to No. 4 in its second week with 84,000 units (down 68 percent). OUCH!!

EMINEM'S CURRENT FLOW Despite an uninspiring opening week, Eminem's Revival is not going away. The project's steady progress is another example of a transformed marketplace and the diminished importance of first-week numbers.
Thanks to single "River" f/Ed Sheeran, the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope superstar is enjoying a Top 5 global (and Top 15 U.S.) streaming track, which is now underway at Pop radio. The full-length is now #3 at iTunes. Look for the long tail to get longer for the hip-hop trailblazer, who'll co-headline Coachella in the spring. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=309911HDD talking some sense about Revival.

As much as I hated the rollout of the album, i do see somewhat of the strategy now..especially with him doing headlining festivals especially Coachella, it keeps his music out on the charts and name out there (since he has been hidden for 4yrs) its not about first weeks numbers , its about the longevity of the music and artist..I really feel like 2018 is owned between him Ed Sheeran and Cardi B. 2018 Eminem takeover. Im sure we will be hearing more music from him aswell
