Is Eminem & Paul's Relationship Like Elvis & the Colonel?

I was able to screen the new Elvis movie last night and it was an amazing film. Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin are such a dynamic duo and have outdone themselves again. I didn't think they could match "The Great Gatsby" but they have with the new "Elvis" movie.

I was stunned by the similarities between the relationship of Elvis and the Colonel and that of Eminem and Paul. Just some highlights of what this film exposed based on a lawsuit Elvis's estate won against the Colonel: SPOILER ALERT

• Elvis was told not to reveal he had a girlfriend. Elvis only got close enough to a girl to marry because he met her while in the service when the Colonel was not around. Marshall had to hide his marriage from Kim, which Christina exposed. (Why she received his ire) Wonder if he is hiding a relationship now)
• The Colonel NEVER left Elvis's side and went with him EVERYWHERE, except when he enlisted in the military, which the Colonel orchestrated. Other countries such as Japan begged for Elvis to tour, but the Colonel would not allow it because he himself could not leave the country.
• The colonel constructed a plot to make Elvis believe his fans were a threat and needed constant security and had to stay hidden so that he would not be harmed. Everything, even attacks on him were orchestrated by the colonel to further his agenda and Elvis only trusting him.
• The Colonel was known for gimmicky merchandise like Elvis action figures, Elvis sweaters, Elvis games, etc. (Sound familiar? Too bad there were not NFTs and Elvis didn't have bricks from the house he grew up in)

These are just a few similarities, many more in the film. DEFINITELY go watch this film when it comes out on June 24th!

At this point I don’t think Paul is smart enough for all of that shit. If he was his label wouldn’t have been a complete miserable flop lol

I saw some extra behind the scenes footage of Paul on sway recently from Instagram stories and dude looked like a nervous mother fucking wreck especially before Em came on.

I could see jimmy being that way though. Jimmy made all his artists recluses…Dre, Kendrick Em…I know Jimmy isn’t ceo of interscope anymore but I’m sure he still drops in to see to tell ppl what to do and I’m sure jimmy and interscope tells Paul what to do half the time

And I still think interscope is telling Paul to chill with his damn shitty ass label and that’s why Paul was so nervous prior to the interview with boogie and u can tell Em was being polite but wasnt there for it. Like he was concerned boogie was gonna say something that would again tarnish Ems name



So yeah I think Paul is an idiot and if anyone is behind the scenes controlling shit it’s the label/jimmy. Paul even recently thanked jimmy for being a mentor of sorts

Could be why boogie told the Eminem bike story- Paul/label might have told him to mention it publicly so Em is now too scared to ride around on his bike in that area because Em was getting too bold with mask during Covid. Cuz now his fans will be on a look out 🤷‍♀️

I always said it was weird that drake chills with locals or u saw Justin Timberlake golfing and it wasn’t a big deal but Em can’t?.

I also said Em might be in a semi Britney consvertorship but everyone called me a crazy bitch for that sooo lol

Why would someone call you crazy? We live in a world where often truths are stranger than fiction.
Looking at so much of this almost two decades on, it feels like Em is happy in his bubble without any real concern about who is steering the ship as long as he’s comfortable and feels safe. I think Paul got lucky with his position.
I don’t understand why he hasn’t done more to diversify in to genuine projects that are beneficial and profitable instead of dumb things that seem to benefit Paul’s ego like artists who never go anywhere, dumb collaborations like the ape, NFT’s and while I understand special edition merchandise I feel like it alienates most of the fan base who is and always has been working class. Sure, many of us are over 35 with some money now but still.
I don’t understand the continued association, financial backing and promotion of very problematic people (Royce) I think if he were more well known he would’ve been cancelled by now.
Curtis is probably his only true and very loyal friend but he’s problematic too, he has a terrible petty mean streak.

I’m guessing it’s both Michigan politeness, his neighbors not impressed by him and he keeps such a tight schedule he rarely diverts from no one gets the opportunity to snap him.

I don’t know the bike story but it sounds heartbreaking.
