He looks good, like he's gained a bit of weight for this. I don't like this yellow tie or how it's put together, neither black nor yellow.

Hey! Sorry for the late response... Just got back from Vegas. So, with Rihanna, she definitely is huge. But, she's bigger because of the clothing line than with music (even though she was massive in that arena too). But, I gotta say, Jay was still bigger at that time. I wish Em did the same with his artists. If Em is a businessman, he's terrible at it lol. He should be doing a bit more for these artists, especially since you can use social media platforms for promotions and they're relatively cheap to advertise on these platforms. Like I have no idea how many albums grip or boogie even dropped at this point.. any mixtapes, etc.. As for EZ Mil, he could really blow up, but I also listened to some of his catalog and it's all over the place (he does metal too). He could end up like a lot of dres artists who end up just being song writers a lot of the times. I liked that you brought up the 20/80 rule! I think that makes perfect sense of what an artist and label should do. As for what happens when em is gone... I don't think anyone can replace him to be honest. There might be others that are similar like him, but just won't be. I do think that he's an anomaly within hip hop. Sorry if this response is all over the place.. I'm still exhausted π No worries at all! I hope you had fun in Vegas!!!! I agree. Eminem is a hip hop unicorn, in part because of the narrative and image they created around him in the beginning. He is super talented, of course, it couldn't have been done without that and his hard work and dedication. He is a true storyteller and Interscope put the money behind him to get him out to the maases and it paid off in spades, and he blew up from there. He gave a voice to a segment of the population that previously the only genre that did that for them was country music and some rock. It allowed that base a pathway into hip hop. I feel like Hip Hop is the urban version of country β a music form that allows musicians to tell their life story, trials and tribulations. Until Eminem, I don't think there was anyone who realy did that for middle America on a pop culture level in hip hop. That is why I wonder who will fill that void when he is gone. But I agree, there will never be another Eminem, like there will never be another Tupac. Tupac was able to appeal to men, women and activists. There has not been a rapper that has been able to do that since him. He was such an intelligent human being and well-read. He created this thug image that was not his true persona similar to Em creating this bad boy image, which I do not believe is him. Even Tupac's THUG tattoo didn't mean what many people assumed. It stood for the "The Hate U Give" which spoke to the boomerang affect of racism. Forgive me for how my message just went all over the place, but I see a lot of parallels in the lives of Tupac and Eminem. The only difference is the industry got the best of Tupac, thank goodness Em didn't have the same fate. I think Dre saw some Tupac in Em. I remember Tupac's mantra was "I just don't give a f@ck" and it was Em's when he entered the game. Vegas is super extreme! Most people talk about the strip. However, the mountains are jaw dropping beautiful! Either you're in sin city and going all out or you're enjoying the natural beauty. There's no real in between. I also checked out the new sphere and I highly recommend it. Now back to Em π. He's an absolute unicorn. I really, really hope that the public won't treat him in the same way they did Elvis. The narrative surrounding Em is literally perfect. Here's a man who's completely broke and was about to quit while Dre was in the same boat. Dre's label was failing with the amount of flops that came out of aftermath. Both were in their last leg and then bam! They met and it's been an absolute journey between those two. Adding 50 cemented that status as well. Grodt is an absolute classic that's under their belts too. I always felt that hip hop was very punk rock to me. I felt like at that time, it was born out of oppression. Both genres have "eff you" messaging. But, it's also country because it's very personal too. Hip hop touches on every single genre.. it's such a beautiful art form. Tupac and Em have a lot of similarities. I think I saw Em even talk about it. Both of them didn't know really drink or do drugs until after they got famous.. and other things. Rapping wise, both of them hit you to the core (Arose is hits me the same way dear mama does for me). They've been through things and made it past their situations. If Tupac was around today, I wonder if they would actually get along or not. Both Em and Tupac had these images, but apparently really loving in person. Tupac and Em are incredibly intelligent. Given Tupac's background, I can see why. With Em, it's just him putting in that hard work. He literally read the dictionary front to back.. who does that π! I'm glad Em is still around. We're witnessing the beginning of the end of true hip hop with only a few lyricists actually left. Which begs the question, would Kendrick Lamar be as highly regarded if he came out in the early 90s?

He looks really god, I agree. I now wonder if they delayed to release this to see if Benzino really tried to do a video near Mom's Spaghetti, because Em might ahve to come harder. But, I ahve also read online that some are specualting this is a prelude to an abum dropping tomorrow.

I would think that it would be an Easter egg? What your thoughts?

Essentially, there are 3 generations of rappers there and Em put them all in his video. And because they did the adlibs, they're essentially agreeing with the lyrics. Em is making the statement that he's influenced and putting these rappers on which is basically challenging Benzino's narrative and his influence. The other thought is that Benzino surrounded himself with ghostwriters while Em surrounded himself with actual rappers... I posted the link to the video. I really enjoy his breakdowns

It was just destruction
