Hahaha 😂 I'm Canadian and Devon Sawa was a big deal here so I was aware of this. It was so cool to see him in Eminem's video, I remember me and my best friend would wait for this video to come on to see Devon Sawa 😂 lmao feels like another lifetime ago. Time flies.

Yeah I see your point with Benzino. But, Em basically said he was a flop in The Sauce and Nail in the coffin (not verbatim.. but basically saying he missed his shot). I know Em Def has to respond, but I don't know how exactly. This is definitely going to be interesting. You can't deaden people's careers like in the past. So, Benzino might be that thorn until he dies. Black people definitely don't fuck with Elvis. But, Em is a different breed. So many of his peers view him as a top tier lyricist. I don't know if people would say the same about Elvis musically. Em has studied the craft through and through which makes him so great. Now when it comes to those tapes Em recorded, I low-key really want to know what was said tbh. Well, a lot of people don't know Elvis's origins but it was VERY similar to Eminem. He grew up in poverty and hung out at places where the Black community perform as early as like 8 years old. He was close friends with B.B. King. I'm not sure if you know him, but he sings Rhythm and Blues (kind of the gradnfather of rock) and Black people loved him and he had a huge rep in those days, kind of like Dr. Dre. There were other Black artists that guided Elvis and encouraged him. You should actually watch the film "Elvis" if you have not already. Baz Luhrmann did a great deal of research when putting this film together. Em also has a song on the soundtrack, which I thought was interesting. Probably because he was made abreast f how similar his situation was to Eminem's. I even think Elvis's relationship with his manager is very similar to how his relationship appears to be with Paul, without teh shadiness (but who knows). It gave me a new perspective on Elvis after watching this film. It also made me realize that labels are the culprit when it comes to some of the things Black people object to when it comes to White artists dominating Black spaces in music. This is sledom told, but Elvis was also known to say he was indebted to Black artists and would credit B. B. King, Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, Ivory Joe Hunter and Fats Domino, among others. Watch this clip from the film. Regarding those tapes, I do too. They did release some of what was on "So Many Styles" only a snippet, though. There are rumors of a third track as well. The craziest part is Em took The Source to court to prevent the release. He claimed that he did not recognize "So Many Styles," but he still argued publishing it in The Source would infringe upon his copyrights. My thing is, if it's not you, how is it copyright infringement. Well the courts bought it and only allowed a small portion to be used under free use because they were a publication. Also, when Em was on Howard Stern before these tapes were released, a classmate called in and Stern was asking about how Eminem has a Black accent and the girl said that there was only one Black person at their school and it was a guy, and Eminem agreed with her. Obviously Benzino and Dave Mays never thought to go to his school and look in a year book. They could have blown his "I dated a black girl at my high school" story wide open. But most people get Proof's school Osbourne confused with Em's school Lincoln. A podcast was recently talking about they listened to some of the tapes and Em was saying something about Black girls being stupid for sleeping with Black guys, which makes no sense bcause who they suppsoe to sleep with? He said something similar in "Foolish Pride." I'm sure Benzino has let people listen to those tapes. I can't beleive he hasn't released them and then just file bankruptcy. Worse can happen is Eminem will sue him. He broke anyway. That's how I know Bezino isn't pure evil, he is just an idiot and jealous of Eminem. I seriously need to watch the Elvis movie! I know it's supposed to be really good and that Austin Butler really nailed the role. It would be fascinating to see all the behind the scenes stuff that made Elvis who he was. I know that there are comparisons of Elvis to Em. I just hope that this ages well for him and his legacy. At the same time, all Em ever really wanted was respect from his peers (which he gets) and his fans. The rest, I'm not sure how he feels about it. It almost feels like you can do 99 things correctly, but that last 1.. you'll harp on it. It's one thing to address the hate in songs, but it's another thing for it to really impact you. Do you think that could be a reason as to why he hasn't dropped in a bit? As far as Benzino.. the dude is literally clowning himself without a shot from Em. He literally admitted that he's trading lines and verses with other people in the studio. Also, that ca$his diss that he dropped was really hard. It was going at Benzino and Cassidy. I know that Benzino isn't completely evil. But, those tapes may not even be in his possession anymore. Even if he were to drop the whole thing, I don't really know what that impact will be. Benzino has been bringing it up for the past so many years and nothing has changed. Then again, it's one thing to keep on talking about it verses actually hearing the audio. All in all, I wanna see/hear what Em will drop.

All in all, I wanna see/hear what Em will drop. I'm not sure if that is not why he has not dropped in a while. He typically takes big gap breaks. However, I do think Em would like the support of a broader section of the culture. I do believe he is happy the OGs respect him, but at the end of the day if the base does not support you, who is going to uphold your legacy in the genre when you pass on? Fans, who were his base, did it for Elvis until it grew old and he became a meme. When you look at artists like The Beatles who are iconic like I think Em is, the base who support them are also the base of the genre. I don't see Hip Hop carrying Em's legacy the way that those who love classic rock carries The Beatles. Just my opinion though based on looking at how other artists fared. Em's fan base is huge, but they are not the core of Hip Hop in general. Most (not all) just love Eminem. I am actually disappointed that Eminem is not responding and these other people are. To me Cashis is a joke, go rap for a career, why you responding to a diss not directed at you? That smells of desperation to me. I think it is embarrassing a top tier rapper who made a diss might not respond to the person he dissed. Also, it is common for rappers to have tons of people in the studio and share ideas. I don't know why people feel it is not. Rapping is a collaborative sport. Watch this YouTube and hear his perspective. I think he sums it up nicely and he is a huge Eminem fan: By the way, I am watching the Grammys and Taylor Swift as won three Album of the Year awards and is up for the 4th and it would make her have the most out of anyone. How has Eminem not one it once and she has won three times. Eminem was definitely robbed! Probably why he doens't keep any of his Grammys in his home. That is a rip off big time! By the way, I hope you dont think I am be challenging with what I am saying at all. I just view this as conversation and an exchange of ideas. I love your perspective as well.

First and foremost, I LOVE your perspective:) it's hard to type everything because I'm using my cellphone and it's respond to all the info and reading through it becomes harder because the way it's set up is very simple. Also, I find you to be thoughtful with your responses and I really like that. Also, I don't find you challenging. I like talking about this stuff with you:) Even if we were to disagree, just know that it's all love. I'll never fully grow angry or anything like that lol. Now, the question I have is if social media wasn't around, would Elvis be viewed in a negative light? We often think about Em's legacy and how it basically gets crapped on social media platforms like X. At the same time, Em is worldwide. I think a lot of the views are coming from the people here in the states versus somewhere in Europe or like Africa. I do believe that social media amplifies either really negative views or really positive ones. The more nuanced views are often overlooked because they don't get attention. I hope Em comes out and responds. Honestly, I liked Ca$his diss! But, he did go at Cassidy and I don't know if it was the right thing to do. If Em does drop, I do think it'll be good. I remember killshot not coming out until a few weeks later. Let's hope that this happens soon. Hip hop always gets overlooked. Kendrick Jay to Beyonce.. always getting overlooked. They usually give it to artists who no one ever heard of before. I remember with the MMLP, Steeley Dan won 😂

Honestly, I'd be more pissed that Steeley Dan won 😂
