I honestly don’t get why eminem fans are mad at this
It was legit just a quick freestyle to promote a movie about being too politically correct now a days and battle rapping. He was gonna take it back to that shit to promo the movie
Idk I feel bad for Em lately. He worked his ass off this year. People spat in his face when he tired playing nice for revival and are mad when he brings it back to shock rap. I don’t mind ppl criticizing his work but honestly I am starting to realize dude can’t win. I guess I’m taking this more personal than just about music-more of a protective fan. He gave us a lot of music and ppl are just throwing it back in his face no matter what. And it’s not the critics it’s the hip hop community. It’s like they are bullying him into retirement.
Yeah he is a bit corny now but Em has always been a bit awkward especially without drugs. Idk I’m just super protective of him lately because after revival from what I saw and read it seemed like he was really gutted. I wish ppl would just let him retire on his own terms slowly and enjoy what he has to offer in the mean time.
I liked revival and loved kamikaze. I’m just glad he seems enegerized again and experimented a bit on kamikaze flow wise and beat wise...which ppl have been asking for for years. And em isn’t gonna stop the shock rap. He just isn’t. The man is the definition of creature of habit so it’s gonna pop up once in a while especially for a movie about shock rap...that’s the point...I’m just glad it seems like he is chilling on the f word from now on
Idk I’m all for rights and consider myself extremely liberal but this whole pc cultural is getting a tad out of hand. I didn’t love the freestyle but I didn’t get personally upset over it. I listened once and moved on.

Ppl just don't like the stuff that's tired and old. Let's be real, even Em knew a lot of his stuff wouldn't age well. I think the problem is you can't recapture lightning in a bottle Kamikaze and Killshot were great. If he keeps growing from that he'll be fine

Same, I am not upset. I'm just bored with his try to be shocking content that just makes him look out of place if not out of touch.
Kamikaze was fire. I didn't see hip hop community nor his fans critic that album.
I think one of his weakness is listening too much his critics. Revival wasn't good because he did ramdom songs to please everyone. I don't even think people were that harsh on him with it, of course his haters in the industry went too hard calling it trash or whatever but which artist doesn't have haters? Expecially the big ones. On the other side, he has a lot of Stans that overhype him too! Revival still made good sales, a lot of his fans defending the album to the core just because it is Eminem. Honestly, sometimes I am wondering if I would even listen to that album if it wasn't Eminem.
He decided to make a whole album to respond to his haters. He even jokes about it with Paul on the skit so I think being over sensitive to his critics his part of his persona, so I wouldn't feel too bad for him. Also it makes him create some good music lol.
But no I won't feel bad for him, that's exactly what he wanted, being on the news for his little shocking freestyle like it's 2001...even though it actually makes him looks... "tired" But it's probably one of his best year actually career wise.

Especially the younger artists

OH great the Joe Buddens are tired and burnt out by the lame lyrics they have to endure by there so called favorite rapper..how about just dont listen to his music anymore and go listen to Post Malone and enjoy Hey, I think Joe is a spineless bitter Betty mad that he never made it while Em did -- so I don't like it when he has points, but sometimes he does. Him and Charlemagne were wrong pretending Killshot wasn't awesome, but this kind of freestyle makes the criticism by lay people, the average listener, grow But you missed my larger point -- I think twice now, Em has suffered from people not wanting to go into the ring with him. If Trump had commented on the freestyle, as they clearly wanted, Em could have built himself a platform as a current rapper taking on the biggest dog in the ring. But Trump was at least canny enough to know that would bring him down. The most he did was have one of his unloved sons make a tweet about it Same with Budden -- he's been taking smack like he's body Em on a battle -- but as Remy said, where's the song, punk ass bitch? He knows Em would rip him into shreds -- so he's sticking to what grinds Ems gear the most, criticism about hip hop, from hip hop -- but not through hip hop See, even when the battle is unwarranted, if you go to war with Em you lose. Look at "The Warning". He was a total petty bitch going after Mariah after all those years - but once she fired a shot in a song? He went to town, and misogynistic as it is, that song had him sounding focused and alive Same with Kelly -- I actually think Kelly was done wrong. So he made one comment about Hailie, it sounds like he didn't know she was underage, it was a compliment, and it seems like he apologized privately. But when he hit back at Em on wax, Em waxed him Even when he starts the fight, as soon as you go st Em via music, you're in his court, and he's the king. But I think when you ignore him, that's when he can't deal. When people put you on a pedestal it's hard to come down and play ball, which is what I think he really wants--not to be frozen in time as an icon who made music people used to like

can we just take a moment and admire the fact that Eminem made an album because ppl were mean to him....hahahah
im sorry but this era was soooooo good. I love his crazy ass. Yes-he is petty and yes kamikaze was a temper tantrum but only he can pull that shit off. I love his unhinged ass. I missed this EM so much...he was soo PC for so long. Knew his crazy ass was still there.
I can just see it:
Dre: Em idk about this album man...
Em: *dismayed face* but they were MEAN to me Dre!!!!! I want to destroy them!
Dre: Destroy who???
Em: ALL OF THEM!!!!!

Hip hop is competitive and I think thats what he loves and sometimes misses about hip hop, that why i feel like him and 50 have such a good relationship because they understand for hip hop to continue to grow and be entertaining is to be competitive in hip hop (sometimes the drakes and post malone become too STALE for me)..there is always a good guy and bad guy in it..thats why when he did the kickoff freestyle and ruffled some people feathers on kamikaze but i feel like people want to discredit that and say hes old and tiring and needs to evolve.I will say this i think kamikaze is the step in the right direction and im excited to see what is to come.

I think him discovering that he doesnt need to do a two month roll out to be successful or have a single on the radio to have a successful album now a days is the best thing that ever happened to him. I think it kind of woke him up and is like oh shit!! I can do whatever I want. Interscope basically lets him get away with anything...and now he can release shit anytime he wants and be as dark as he wants Plus he seems to have a renewed confidence that's been lacking for a while. I am excited for the future

As Lou Reed chanted..."Take A Walk On The Wild Side!" I don't think EMs taken that in maybe two decades. He's so protected, insulated, that he can't even escape like Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday." If only Em could break out of his comfort zone maybe he'd take a "Detroit Holiday," or get out of Dodge altogether! He's mired in his own bullshit and he's like a scratch in a worn LP...EMs on repeat!

I am excited for the future See I think this is why I didn't like the freestyle. I had been waiting a long time for him to drop a kamikaze album. I love hip-hop, I said many times that I wanted a regular Eminem album with no pop features (to appeal to a larger audience) and just hip-hop beat. I even hoped for a Infinite kind of album but Em needs a focus like you guys already said. Trump, MGK, Budden, etc. I am so glad he answered back and I love angry Eminem, "Im the best fuck yall" mood :t2 That's probably why I didn't like the freestyle because I saw Kamikaze as a step forward! Finally. But that freestyle is a step back to me. I feel like Em often does that lol. I should be excited for the future as Kamikaze is probably my fave album since TES jesus christ that is something!! But the pop singers dropping name were a little bit too backwards, to me it's like is insecure himself coming back to old formula...And interviews with him and Sway made me believe he really matured on a couple of subjects but I guess it's a question of percepetion. Anyway, still love Em, don't like the freestyle but it's just a freestyle!
