Dean Koontz and Stephen King are two of my favorite authors! I have read their books all of my life it seems! Is it weird that I will read their books but I will not watch a horror movie like, ever?! Sixth Sense is about as scary as I will get. I love Stephen King and I have read many Dean Koontz but for some reason I’ve had a Koontz break and just rediscovered him! What the Night Knows was also super good! I read it during easter! Another book I really enjoyed was C J Tudor’s The Chalk Man! I actually think Stephen King recomennded it on his facebook, and on the book cover is a SK quote “if you like my stuff you’ll like this” or something like that. So definitely recommend that one! And I am all about horror movies too! Not the bloody non-scary ones, but the psychological thriller ones, like Sixth sense! And that one is pretty scary

And that one is pretty scary There is so much about The Sixth Sense that is next level. **SPOILER ALERT** Did you hear about the color red in that film? Anytime you see red something bad is gonna happen! Remember the mom that poisoned her daughter? Wore a red suit to the funeral. Anyways thats such a great film. My all time favorite book from Stephen King is The Stand. I remember reading it in high school at the library and crying out when a major character died. Its a long-ass book though. 1200 pages or more. It made me love a good apocalyptic story. Recently I read the Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin (The Passage, The Twelve and City of Mirrors). The author is from my hometown of Houston and he sets quite a bit of the stories here so that was interesting to me. Its the apocalypse and vampires! Woohoo! Such great characters that I did not want to leave when the I finished the last book. If I can make one more recommendation check out two companion books by Max Brooks. The first is The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. The first one is non-fiction (well sorta) and its gives a description and recommendations on how to keep the zombies at bay after a virus turns 80% of the population into zombies. World War Z is the story of the virus and how it spread all over the world. Its told by different people at different stages of the catastrophe. Its so good. I understand the movie sucked but how are you gonna tell a story with 20-30 main characters. That is not what Hollywood does. I just looked up The Chalk Man and its sound right up my alley! It is officially on my list! Thanks for the recommendation! BTW if you have not read The Odd Thomas books by Dean Kootnz I can not recommend them enough. Odd is prolly by favorite fictional character of all time!

I actually have The Stand but haven’t read it, so I should add that to my list! I saw a TV series named The Passage last fall, it’s probably the same as those books? But I guess you can still read the books even if you’ve seen the TV series or movies. Most of the time they’re completley different stories! Same with World war Z, I’ve seen the movie. I think it’s with Brad Pitt. I really love that movie tho, I’ve seen it probably a hundred times, lol! I think it’s really good! But no it’s not told by different people. But I guess I could check out the book tho! That actually brings me to another movie, I think it’s called Contagion, that is told my different people, and was it like a documentary type movie(?). That sounds more like that book. I don’t even remember that movie, so I could just as well check out the book I have read the first Odd book a few years ago, but not the others! We actually have the second and third book, so I could read them next! Thanx for that!

I read that Jessica Simpson book and was really surprised by some of the stuff she mentioned. Her talking about trying to be a good mom while everyone is watching and you're secretly an alcoholic sounded really rough. Didn't really follow her career (other than watching her reality show back in the day), so I had no idea about all the stuff that she went through.

As more and more celebs write memoirs you see how crazy/cut throat Hollywood is for women so I can imagine as a man and with the celebrity status that Em has all the craziness he has probably participated in.

www.galactanet.com/oneoff/theegg_mod.htmlThis is my favorite short story of all time. I remember the first time I read it. It gave me the same mind-blown feeling as Eminem’s lyrics. Last time I tried to share something new with you all, I created nothing but dissension. I’d only like to create discussion, not bad feelings, and I’m sorry if I hurt anyone with my views. This story is wholesome! I promise. The Egg story always gives me comfort when the real world gets too heartbreaking. And, I thought to share it with you after listening to Andy Weir’s, The Martian, on Audible. (It’s leaving the Audible “included in membership” library on Sept. 3rd, so go listen now if you’ve had it on your list.) All the actual reading I’ve been doing is in German, lately… and they’re written like baby books for adults… but hey, if you want to practice German, I can send you a link to a website with learning books. Anyway, I’m interested in what anyone thinks about The Egg story… it’s a quick read… like 5-10 minutes. Or, The Martian… or anything really. FULL DISCLOSURE: After this Wunch account got blocked, I re-signed up as Ingred87. But, the member here who blocked me and Admin who unblocked me are aware of that. Please, let me be a part of this community. I promise to never mention the two topics that got folks so upset, and I also promise to wait at least 12 hours before I write any replies to “an argument” to my own views… Like, discussion arguments, not hateful word arguments. Does anyone feel me?

Calling me out on my nonsense? Nothing? Hmmm, guess you’re all still ignoring the (in Matty’s words), hurt puppy. Seriously, I love Eminem. Not ever “trolling” him or his music.

Highly recommend if you are into psychological mysteries. the silent patient slightly tied into the maidens and was slightly better so I recommend starting with that one if if interested

Ok, all the recommendations so far, I’ve not been willing to pay for… but I’m reaching the end of my current reading list, so please be prepared for some long-winded reviews., Anyway, I’m listening to The Lakota Way by Joseph M. Marshall, narrated by Joseph M. Marshall on my Audible app. Try Audible and get it here: www.audible.com/pd?asin=B002V5J18E&source_code=ASSORAP0511160006&share_location=player_overflowUnd lesen.amazon.de/kp/kshare?asin=B08543NK7K&id=mubodbmyh5h7zdgc25667muomqI‘m only on chapter 2 of „The Lakota Way“, but it’s really good so far! I love hearing tales from Indigenous Tribes, the link I shared is from Audible… listening to stories is easier than reading, for myself, right now. The second link I copy-pasted is the last story I read with my eyeballs. I had it on my Kindle wishlist for a long time! I only decided to read it when one of my new German friends recommended it “auf Deutsch”. I tried to read it auf Deutsch (in German), but I’m still too dumb in that language. But, it’s a really good story! Not many of y’all liked my “The Egg” link, all good… Maybe once I reply with some of my own thoughts on your recommendations, I’ll get some feedback… (just btw, Andy Weir author of “The Egg”… he tried to imagine the most fair way to explain existence for everyone. It’s not his personal belief, nor mine. I just thought it was cool idea to share with you all).

is anyone a reader? if so, any recommendations for a light or funny book on audible? or maybe podcast? Possible upcoming snow storm in my area changed my flight home for the holidays into a long drive home and now plenty of time to fill.

Has anyone read the Eddie Flynn series books by Steve Cavanagh? If so, are they good? Thinking of buying them (found this boxed set on sale)
