This legit made me cry. I thought Em's performance was off and apparently i wasn't the only one. I hope he doesn't read this because you know it will crush him. I think something is wrong with Em. I don't know if he is just ready to hang it up or if there is something legitimately bad going on in his life right now. Personally, i think he is ready to hang it up and that is why Paul moved over to Def Jam. He can't run Def Jam and manage Em at the same time. I mean he can if Em puts out an album every 4 years and does little to no promotion. But something is definitely going on with him. He didn't get this kind of criticism when he was in the tailspin of his drug abuse. TDM is a piece of shit rag, and if all they could get was twitter bitching, then Em has them shook I don't think ppl hate this as much as the Trump media wants you to think they do. I talked to my brother who is super into nowadays hip hop scene, knows all about it, and he's excited for Ems album and likes WOW The thing is, the whole "vulnerable and honest rap" thing? That IS the new big trend. That's what all the new rappers are actually doing I didn't realize it until now, but -- Ems on point. If his whole album was about being depressed, struggles, etc? That could actually smash I didn't know this until I talked with my brother, cause he's way more into hip hop now than I am. But even rappers I thought were goofy and stupid are doing it. I mean, I had an inkling. Cuz that's how young ppl in our society are feeling -- abandoned, like we want to tune out, depressed. But emotional rap? That's the big new thing That has actually turned my whole view around. If this album is good, really good? I think Em could dominate Also, lots more ppl liked MMlp 2 than I thought. Like, lots of ppl said they didn't like Berzerl, thought they'd get the album, but then loved it It all rides on the album, is all saying. If the album goes with the theme of revival i will be happy I really liked WoW and thought it was a great lead off single for this time of music But then they just let the hype die and burn. It makes no sense to me So yeah I'm not mad about the music (yet) I'm mad about the execution

Well, I talked to my 17yo nephew and his friends this weekend and they refer to Em as "Rap Dad" because he is "old". They then pointed out that Em is popular with "old people" like me (I'm mid 30's) but teenagers don't like him. I can't stand the shit they listen to. I don't even know who it is..they told me but I forgot because it wasn't worth remembering. My brother said his kids, also teenagers, don't listen to Em but he thinks it's because they consider it "dad music" since my brother is probably a bigger Eminem fan than me. My other brother said his boys listen to his older stuff but don't like the last couple of albums. But they are more pre-teen/early teen. So that's just my anecdotal info.
I still think there's something wrong with Em. I don't think it's mental because Paul wouldn't have let him perform or give interviews if he was going through some mental stuff. His performance last night was weird and I'm not the only one who noticed. He was not his usual self. He seemed nervous and unsure of himself. I don't think he's confident with this album and that is why it hasn't been released yet.

Just saying But isn't Paul the one who cut that interview he did in Australia (I think) during the MMLP2 promo? I have always imagined Paul keeps a tight reign on Em during interviews. Like he tells him, "ok, say this..don't say that..if they ask you this, answer it this way...don't talk about this or that or that other thing" and gets him all wound up that he is a nervous wreck when he sits down for the interview. I remember Anderson Cooper saying that Em's camp was the most tightly controlled group of people he had to work with for an interview. I think things changed once Em got sober. Paul didn't used to babysit him as much as he seems to now. Or at least I don't remember him being that controlling. Em obviously doesn't have a problem with it since he lets him.

Right...I agree and that's why I think Paul might be halting the album promo you know? Em is okay usually performing. And the only interviews we had was the podcast where Rubin was there and it was clearly edited. And the other one was in shade45 where Paul was there and able to monitor it and Em was used to everyone To me it's like Paul monitors Em to see how he is doing you know? And if it seems like he is getting too stressed and he starts worrying about how he looks to the public then he might post pone the album and promo you know? I'm not saying Em is talking to plants. But if y'all caught him when he was about to perform he looked so unbelievable nervous. Like he was hugging the mic stand To me Paul learned his lesson after Em's dark period and probably worked with Em's doctors and with Em himself and they know what to look for. And Paul still wants to advertise the album but also knows not to push it and will tell fans to fuck off if Em needs time... Idk that's just how I see it I don't think anything is wrong with the actual album. Because I don't think reputable sites would have said that it was dropping on the 17th

He seems very dependent on Paul and Paul seems very protective of Em. Why would Paul go run a fairly large record company, which is a competitor to Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, if Em wasn't winding down his solo career?

I mean he puts out an album every four years...its not like Em is super busy I have feeling Paul is gonna run Def Jam and if Em feels up to it he will work on an album at his leisure and let Paul know when he is ready to finalize it or hard core work on it and then perhaps release it. I don't think Em has anymore obligations and its up to him whenever he wants to do something. I doubt Em will ever get a new manager though. He depends on Paul way too much I mean this is all speculation on my part though. Like brianna said- at least Walk on Water is good and caters to Em's fans. I just wish they fucking road the wave and didn't let the hype die down. But if it had to do with Em's health then idk...its just confusing

Well I saw mostly positive feedback about Em's performance online (youtube/twitter/instagram at least). Trump supporters are the maddest apparently, lol!
I thought Em looked comfortable performing. I didn't think he looked nervous at all. And in his interviews, Paul let him do the talking. When Em was on drugs, Paul finished his sentences and answered a lot of questions, because Em was too "slow".

Sorry but some of you on here are way worse than what he is talking about in Walk on Water. In WoW it's "at least only" about his Music but you talk about his private life/mental and physical health like you know it all. If I was him, I rather would have no fans at all than People talking about me like that. He is a human being and easily could come across what you talk (on here and other places you are doing the same). Put yourself in his shoes, how would you feel? You think he is mentally unstable but still risk him reading the bullshit you write about him. Well, if you care about an unstable Person you wouldn't want to put him down any further. Yes, he went through dark times in the past but you are reading way too much into nothing. Unbelievable how the same stuff happens on here all over again.

Ive blocked people that I can't deal with Plus Em has talked about his mental health multiple times in his music. So I don't think it something that we can't talk about. He has several songs dedicated to his mental health struggles and addiction. Thats like 65% of his catalogue. What if he talks about it in his music in this album? Should we just pretend to ignore it? Mental health is nothing to be ashamed of and shouldn't be ignored.I don't think its putting him down but I am wondering out loud. I mean just look and listen to songs like Monster and Legacy and Brain Damage, and Not Afraid, KIM, Drug Ballad, If I Had, Rock Bottom. I mean its been in his work for so long that I am honestly surprised that his fans don't talk about it more. Wouldn't we be shitty fans if we just ignored what he is telling us in his music? And he has been telling us this shit since the beginning of his career. And I said in my post that I was purely speculating but considering his roll out for this album has been weird and he looked really nervous (which hundreds of people on twitter noticed not just on here) its not a far cry to speculate. when he actually releases more content though I am sure the topics will change. I just don't like to ignore shit and pretend Em seems perfectly fine. Like I said I really like WoW and was really excited but shit got weird fast and this board is NOT the only place people are noticing it. Just do a quick twitter search. I just don't want to see a fav of mine who might be clearly struggling and being like "lol how cute! he looks like he is having a panic attack! everything is fine!!!!! slayyyyyyyy!!!!"

It doesn't offend me but I think it's stupid and not fair. By now we should definitely know that he reads what People say about him. It's not like you were arguing based on things that he said in his Music but you were judging his looks and behavior from a recent Performance. He didn't hold up a sign "Judge my mental health". He was just there performing and you felt entitled to judge him. If he is talking about his struggles on the upcoming Album it's perfectly fine to disucss the Content of the Songs. What you are doing now is pure speculations. I know I mentioned it at least ones before, in my eyes that's a form of Munchhausen. It feels like some (not saying you bc I lose track of who said what) want him to struggle. If you think he is unstable you shouldn't put further pressure on him.

oh for fucks sake. Its not munchahausem syndrome and honestly thats kinda of gross for you to say. If he is unstable I just want him to quit dropping albums though and be happy. I never said I WANTED him to be sick. Nor did I say it was a bad thing. I said it might be a REASON we are having album delays. I am speculating what is going on with his album cycle....clearly something changed. Either album delay or personal shit. I gave my reasoning why I think its personal. His last album focused a lot on mental health issues....he expressed in interviews that he has ocd and anxiety tendencies...he comes out with a new album, and shit seems fucked up..its not hard to be like hmmmm maybe he is going through it. I hope not but I mean...he could be. And Paul said he feeds Em information on Shade45. I HIGHLY doubt he is gonna tell EM what a chick named Matty thinks about his life on a message board that isn't even that popular (no offense to us). Or any of our opinions for that matter. But if Em is reading...go to bed boo!!!!!
