"With a staggering 755,027 units in album sales, Em landed in first place by a landslide". I wouldn't call 755,027 units "staggering" considering "The Bodyguard" soundtrack sold over 25 mil copies the first year it was released...Those were the days! I mean, EM didn't even sell a million in 2018...Ouch! Though I would consider his streaming "staggering." All this being said, I'm thrilled for Marshall!

We have to remember that these are streaming times. No one streamed music when The Bodyguard came out, while everyone streams today. I mean considering he was the fourth highest streamed artist (wasn’t he?) it’s pretty nice he ALSO sold that many albums! What I thought was surprising was that only around half of his sales came from Kamikaze. That means his old albums still sell a lot, which is super cool

I bet if someone tallied all the sales of EMs old albums in 2018 opposed to his new two this year, they would outweigh the other. I'm sure Admin knows the answer to this.

Absolutely fabulous and insightful, with tidbits about EM I never knew!, Detroit Free Press Article: "Eminem's 'Slim Shady LP' turns 20: An oral history of the album that created a Superstar." "Eminem's "The Slim Shady LP" breakout album is marking its 20th anniversary. Here's the inside story from those who were there..."

I found this interesting tidbit about Jacques Loussier who was a famous French pianist and composer who applied jazz improvisation and swing to Bach’s exquisite symmetries. "Film soundtracks aside, Jacques Loussier did not record many albums of his own compositions. One exception is 1979’s Pulsion, a duet with drummer Luc Heller which sees him playing percussively and exploring funk beats. In 2000, the theme from the title track was lifted and adapted, without permission, by Dr Dre for the track Kill You on the multi-million-selling Eminem album The Marshall Mathers LP. Loussier’s lawyers filed a $10m lawsuit and demanded all sales of the album be halted; the case was settled out of court. Another track from the Pulsion album, the Afro-Cuban-tinged Caféine, was sampled by the Beatnuts for their 2001 track Yo Yo Yo, while Madlib sampled Secousse for his 2006 track Black Mozart."
Boy, Dr. Dre certainly lifted a lot of beats for EM, including "My Name Is."

Eminem's reps have denied the story, but I tend to think that's because they haven't hammered out all the details.

And knowing how EMs reps operate they may never work out the details except in the ring! Though a scenario like this would be right up EMs alley.
