:sigh: I'm not fond of this dude. One of the things I like/irks me about Marshall is that he genuinely seems like a "come as you are" kind of person - which I love - but sometimes it leads to him being blind to someone's glaring flaws (i.e. 50 cent's gross behavior) until it burns him.
Or maybe that's the way it should be - the emphasis is placed on how the person treats you - and I'm the one who needs to learn.

I have always judged people by the way they treat me. Not by the gossip on the street. Once bitten twice shy, so to speak. But, if you burn me you'll never see me again. Yela must have an endearing, and talented, quality that EM can relate to. Otherwise, Mickey Wayne would be booted from Shady Records. And EM would be showing him the door. Yela's a bad, bad, boy. If he reeled it all in he might actually be more successful.

I don't even know why Em and Paul still bother with Shady Records. Most of the artists are flops. The only one to make it out of the bunch was 50 cent and that was because he was a hustler. They act like being associated with Em's name is enough to give their artists mainstream success. To me that is proof that Paul is not that great of a music manager. He just lucked out with Em.

I've said it before and I'll say it again--Shady Records is a shit show. Tbh if I was an artist I wouldn't want to be signed by them because I'd just assume it'd be the end of my career. The best you can hope for is Em does a verse on your song and everyone pretends the resulting popularity isn't because people are tuning in to hear Em's new verse featuring long boring parts by that new signee.

I agree. Em gives us so little these days that whenever he appears on a track or does an interview with other Shady artists he completely overshadows them.

That's why I feel like they should just shut it down. After 16 years, their track record is a bit embarrassing. I'd be curious to know how profitable Shady Records is. I suspect they are keeping it alive because it gives Em something to do when he's not working on his own stuff. At the end of the day, Em works with people that he finds talented but talent and star quality are two different things.

He just lucked out with Em. you know that's the deal with being an artist (of any kind). You have to hustle. All day, every day. Pound the streets, shake the hands, kiss the babies. Get along with people you never imagine you would be interacting with in your life. Its hard, hard work. That's why so many talented people fail at making a living at their art every day. Em worked his ass off before and after he blew up. It never stops if you want to continue to work and to be relevant and popular once you make your mark. Never stops, man.

Life's a bitch and the music industy is a grind! And the grind is what keep EM sane. And alive. Not only does EM have direction, he's got all the time in the world! Whether we like it or not...EMs on EM Time! Now Yela...Why, hell, he's a whole other story.

I´m sorry Yela, I don´t like this. I´m kind of over the cowboy/farmer plus the country/rap music, the video seems a little too boring for me...I like the "get down" parts tho
