I finally listened to both of the interviews with Jeff Bass — one purelly about the making of the music, which was good if you want to know the type of equipment used for some songs — and one about the shady practices that the Bass Brotehrs experienced. I encourage Eminem fans to listen to this because it is the first time anyone from the inside has shared a perspective about Paul, Dre and Jimmy. After listening I really do believe there may be some manipulation happening. But I'd love to hear everyone elses take away from it. It inspired me to read an interview with DJ Head, who use to be Eminem's tour DJ. Then I listened to an interview with Alchemist and learned he was very good frineds with Paul and that is how he became Eminem's DJ. It seems that everyone, except Denaun and Royce, were hired by Paul or Interscope, which has been shady for years. Here is the description of the episode and link to listen to it:The producer behind much of Eminem's early work. Jeff and his brother Mark discovered and produced most of the music on Eminem's first albums, but as the years went by they found themselves increasingly at odds with his label, Interscope/Universal, and were gradually written out of the story. Other than being mentioned on Wikipedia, the current Eminem narrative barely mentions them at all. Jeff and I spoke about his early days in the music industry, how he came to work with Eminem, and how the relationship developed over the years. open.spotify.com/episode/0Nha2lKdVfgBbJOZIkVVV5?utm_medium=share&utm_source=linktree

They had their hands in so much. I believe he mentioned 8 Mile publishing - weren't they the ones involved in that recent Spotify lawsuit? Hearing him call Paul a "handler" that is interesting. Paul managed to weave himself into several things. I wonder if Marshall is more a follower because Paul is the one everyone has to interact with before anyone gets to Marshall.

It blew my mind when he said that Swifty and Kuniver said they had no choice in the second D12 album production. It's weird that the first album was a hit, but choose not to use the Bass brothers for the second. I think Em's best work was with them. It's unfortunate whatever went down. But Jeff isn't the first to allude to the idea of Paul being shady.

Also the part that he shared about not being thanked at award shows and Jimmy's response - you have house money. Maybe Jimmy isn't as "clean" as he looks either...

I saw a few articles (when I looked up stuff associated with celebs and Diddy) that said JayZ and Beyonce lost millions of followers recently and articles are tying it to Diddy.

I haven't seen any mention of a lawsuit but I have noticed that celebs who were affiliated with him are now being impacted. For example I have seen mentions of how Usher was 15 (?) when he lived with Diddy at one point and he expressed "seeing questionable things" (quotes are mine instead of mentioning the things Usher alluded to). Google it and you can see... I wonder if people wrote Usher off as being a kid when he mentioned "that stuff" but now it's really going to make people go back (IMO) and think "wow those 'events' are not new at all!"

Yeah, the vides that are resurfacing are wild. Diddy is in a video with Justin Bieber and he said that he had custdy of Usher when he was a minor. That is wild to me that parents hand their children over to these people. Here is the video. Beiber seems so uncomfortable to me. x.com/Itismourinho/status/1772678527499870633

I remember Diddy being in that documentary about Jimmy and Dre. I know Diddy would attend Jimmy's parties but I don't know if Jimmy ever attended his. You know their were rumors about Usher having herpes. I think someone sued him for giving them herpes. I also think Diddy forced Justin B. to have sex with him and others. That would explain a lot about Justin. I feel so bad for him. It's a good thing Em never leaves huis house. No one can tie him to this Diddy mess.

I can't believe we have not seen any charges regarding minors because there was a female posting a video on Twitter that supposedly has been advocating against Diddy for a while and she was what she called the entertainment along with a bunch of otehr jkkids and also a ward of the state in Califronia, which really makes me side eye all these people. Yeah, Eminem being a recluse is going to be his saving grace. Plus he has been dissing Diddy for like ever. Beiber has been in a few videos online with Diddy when he was a child and he looks so uncomfortable. It truly is sad and disheartening that these studios allow this type of exploitation to happy. They need to cut this off at the knees and that means from the very top. Sony, UMG and INterscope have been named in a recent lawsuit. I hope they are held accountable if they were knowing of any of this. Anotehr one who got away with it was Hugh Hefner. He was known to have minors at his house "parties" that is where Bill Cosby met teh 15 year old in his suit.

Is this a long listen? It is like 30 minutes I think but so good! I am not a huge fan of podcasts because if the host is not engaging it can be a drag. This host is not a good orator BUT the questions he asked elicits interesting responses. No one has been able to get Jeff Bass to talk, so it's great to hear his perspective on Eminem. he also talks about Dre and Jimmy as well as D12. So its worth it. Interesting though, no mention of Proof specifically. He does confrm that Eminem is NOT a clone. LOL He's just a man that grew up and changed his style. But he did allude to Eminem being a puppet and being encouraged to change his style.

Yes, Jeff was the guy that produced SSEP, knowing Em since or even before Infinite (Porter was the producer). Yes, Bass Brothers were the guys that lead Em to have a SOUND, Dre was the guy that refined and directed it. Yes, they were with Em in 97, packed everything they have produced in their cars, driving til Cali. Yeah yeah. They even made a second mortgage on their houses! For money, for budget. They helped Em so, so much! Such good hearted people. But when Em blow up... Oh, the attention! The chance to reveal to the world THE REAL MASTERMINDS behind the "artist". First interview: "Dre was embarrassed, a kid in the studio, we teached him", something like that. Em? We actually have to force him, you know, he doesn't know how to write a chorus. Every single interview is like that, Jeff cannot help himself. Em music is only great because of Bass Brothers, forget Dre, Jimmy, Elizondo, Resto (in my opinion, the best usual collab), Porter, and also Eminem. Man, it's almost like "we could've made it big with Anybody". But you only made it with Marshall (and Dre, Jimmy, etc.). I wonder why. BTW, I love their production, but c'mon...

I did not have time to listen to this podcast, but from stuff I read over the years they make it seem like it was only because of them that em blew up. I think sometimes they are bitter that he doesn’t work with them and Jake bass seems like he will do anything for attention. Anytime something with em is on social media , he take every chance to make it about him and his family. I’m sure there is a lot more to the story and I know people like to blame Paul and say he controls em, but I just don’t think that is all true to N extent.
