I don't know if that was the same job as the rumors about the prostitution, or whatever it was, spa. And yes she worked as a receptionist in the prostitution spa. It was in Jenny's book, so I don't know if it was something Jenny made up or if it was for real. According to Jenny tho, everyone knew what was going on in that spa except Em, who was the last one to find out. As for the other story you posted, Em was working in LA, came home a day early, went to Kim's house, she wasn't there, her car was gone and her engagement ring was in its box in the bedroom. He sat outside until 4am and she never came home. The next day he called, like you said, and she claimed she had been home all night, so he said he waited outside until 4 and that he wanted the keys to the jaguar he vbought for her. As for your question, they say Kim and Dawn ran away from home because of abuse. At least the time Kim moved in with Debbie and Em. It was in Debbies book and I think Em has said it too. I remember this story! It was in the biography written by Anthony Bozza (the guy who followed him around Detroit for his first Rolling Stone interview). If she has really been working as one Jenny and his mom and then would have happily said it. She was never a stripper and Jenny was the one who said Kim worked in a brothel/spa as a receptionist. But Jenny said a lot of shit about Kim that some of turned out not to be true. I don't know what to think about the brothel/spa story but I do know that the 2 people making the claim (Jenny and Debbie) both hated Kim, so I would take it with a grain of salt. I don't know how Kim survived all these rumors about her and her oldest friends selling her out. It's no wonder she is in the state she's in. I imagine not being able to trust anyone and having no one in your life will drive you to drinking and suicide. I know I couldn't handle half the shit that got said about Kim, so she's stronger than me. |

While I love and agree with this post, my thing about the stripper comes directly from Em -- it was in an article I think from Newsweek, where he said "my girl had to strip to make money" taking about how poor they were |

I have no doubt that EM and Kim did a lot of thing, we'll never know about, to make ends meet. And the Newsweek article mentions another attempted suicide that I said occurred and was debunked..."Things got so bad that he even tried to kill himself by swallowing pills." Seems the whole family is mired in mental illness in one way or another. Such a shame, but glad EMs daughters turned out OK with all they have been through!
