The views on Gnat are pretty bad tbh 😔 Yeah..I would expect it to be 2-3 million by now. I'm afraid Em is losing his touch. I'm not a huge fan of this album. I really haven't liked his stuff since Recovery. Just a few songs per album. I just don't like his new rhyming/rapping style. Well...I guess it's not new anymore. But I don't like it. That and he raps about the same stuff. It's getting really old for me.

I agree with you Tcat - to be honest now that I really think about it IDK if I have truly loved/connected with his work in the last 10 years! While I appreciate his lyrical genius/abilities, he has unfortunately failed to capture the tone/mood he once had in his music and while I understand he is older and obviously has grown as an artist - I can't say I love his new style/sound! In the past few years I find myself reading his lyrics/figuring out his rhyming schemes/analogies/metaphors but rarely do I have ever really listen to his music. I know most of you will not agree with me, but sometimes you need to know when to let go - and you need to do so before you become a shell of the artist you once were/start contracting your own words! Over the past decade I've gotten this weird need for validation from him - bitterness as he reminisces on what hip-hop once was (stop living in the past) and while I do agree that artists coming up should be aware of the history of hip-hop, in reality it isn't/should be a prerequisite lol! I'm a visual artist myself and I appreciate art in general but not all painters/illustrators know every single technique that the masters used or need to know, that's the beauty of art. I'm just over his mentality towards the genre in general and his need for recognition from his peers "Top 5 Rappers" "Top 10 Rappers" blah blah like let it go bro and enjoy the present and acknowledge that you were the best to ever do it once upon a time. I'm in my 30's now and when I was in high school I thought he was real cool - but the past few years I realized he's not as chill/cool as I once thought lol! I hate how apologetic he is at times, and how regurgitative his material has become, again maybe that's a sign you need to let it go (quality over quantity). I wish after his overdose he took a different direction with his career (focused more so behind the scene) and took the Leonard Cohen route - I'd love to read his poetry/lyrics in a book format! p.s Why is he yet again apologizing to Rihanna as if she's this innocent/incredible talent/goddess (don't come for me) - yes what Chris B. did was unjustified (it takes two to tango) + since then her career skyrocketed as her management used the incident to launch Bad Gurl RiRi - she has done quite well! His team already apologized on his behalf publicly for his verse why apologize yet again - chill dude, especially when you consider the theme of the album and the fact that he's again murdering his lover on the very same album. He seems so desperate to be liked and be politically correct at al times these days!

And love the video I just think they didn’t advertise it well. Heck Godzilla has a shit ton of views. Also keep in mind this side b. It’s not even a brand new album. But I genuinely love it and feel like Em really went out of the box. It takes a while to unpack tho and I get why ppl wouldn’t care for it on the first listen. But it’s actually really personal and really well done. Just a lot to dissect and can get a bit overwhelming on the first listen

The views on Gnat are pretty bad tbh 😔 I'm worried YT is nerf-ing it like they did with Darkness because it's not on their trending video list like it should be. YT prevented Darkness from showing up in people's recommends because of the content, I hope they are not doing that with Gnat but it's too early to tell.

This line really got to me. I feel like Em went through it this year. He never really shouts out his fans like this. Usually it’s about him helping them not the other way around
But if I ever double-crossed my fans and lost my Stans I'd probably pop five Xans (Yeah) Go in my garage, start my van Inhale as much carbon monoxide and exhaust I can And doze off like *snores*"

I absolutely love love love this album!! And music video! So glad so hear from him and get to see him! ❤️ didn’t have time to write that yesterday cuz I was listening to Em 😂🤪 Same! I can’t get over “guns blazing”, “gnat” and “higher” and honestly haven’t felt THAT excited over songs of his in SO long so that was nice to connect with it like I used to as a teenager like with mmlp and the Eminem show ♥️ My fave recent Shady, even the beard I’m like 🤤🤤 Daddy Shady can stick around please Well I could do without the beard 😇 but I’ve come a far way tolerating it for Em 🙊

A lot of mega stars, and stars in general, come from very dysfunctional families. Debbie was so young when she had EM and was abandoned by Bruce, With a lower class background, very little education and being a single mother to boot, I'm sure she took all her frustrations out on Marshall. Who else was around? I'm not condoning this, or her, but at 48 years old it's time for little EMzy to do some soul searching and get on without his past affecting all his lyrics. There's a lot of good stuff to be said about MTBMB: Side B, but there's also a lot of rehashed BS. Live in the present EM, get on with your life, grow up and stop blaming everyone around you. Even dissing Snoop because Snoop didn't say EM was on his Top 10 list of Rappers is a reflection of EM not being able to let go. Man's pushing 50, for Crissakes...His lyrics should be enlighting at this point because and, as we all know, he certainly has a gift! For me, MTBMB: Side B is a great Christmas gift (perfect timing) and a great stocking stuffer!
