Houston Livestock and Rodeo is a rich people thing. It's a huge rodeo with your typical rednecks but the money that is raised through auctions is from all the rich people in Houston. This year they raised over $30 million. The wine Fiddy is bidding on goes into that pot. The kids raise livestock and farm animals, then they are judged and then the auction them off. The kids that place 1, 2, 3rd and honorable mention get scholarship money for school. Just to give you an example of the ridiculous money rich people spend at the rodeo, the grand champion steer (one cow) was auctioned at $1M. That's just one animal. They also have an art auction that the grand champion this year went for $250K. The grand champion reserve (2nd place) went for even more, $265K. Fiddy flashing his money around will fit right in. I grew up in Houston, that's how I know this. |
