And Yelawolf dropped his album on Friday. So it's kind of understandable they didn't release a single already this past Friday as well, Lol. If Em's album is indeed being released on 11/17, we're going to get something very, very soon. |

That ended when Frank Ocean dropped two quick to get out of his contract with Def Jam. The industry in general has moved away from exclusives because in the streaming era, you want your music on as many platforms as possible. I think the last major exclusive was Kanye on Tidal, and I think that hurt that album. |

Just remember that Beats is now owned by Apple and both Dre & Iovine are major board members. And billionaires because of it. If Dre produced or co-produced EMs "Rivaval" there may have been some "exclusive elusive" deal done between Apple & Aftermath. Time will tell...

I am perplexed with how they are rolling out this album. It's like a non-surprise surprise album. I guess they could just release a single on the 17th but it doesn't make much sense to have this much build up to a single. Seems like you'd want to put an album out before Black Friday for that holiday bump. Next Friday is Taylor's album release, not that it matters to Em, but she's gonna have most of the attention that day. IDK what they are doing.

To me, the whole set up is stupid, sophomoric and not all that exciting or meaningful. Unless you want to call "stupid" meaningful! It's like EM and his team are grasping at straws. I can put all my negatives aside if EM delivers one motherf**kin' album that's off the charts!

I can put all my negatives aside if EM delivers one motherf**kin' album that's off the charts! im a tad worry it does kind of seem like they don't know what they are doing promo wise and are just gonna kind of throw it out there to meet the deadline or they are going to do a really cool online social media rollout of some kind which will get the internet going crazy. But since they didn't ride the revival campaign mojo and just let the buzz die off I'm really concerned. They should have released the single like the next day to keep the buzz going. Most non-hard core fans already forgot about it. If they werent ready to promote why start the campaign? This is either gonna be really messy or really good. obviously, I hope for the latter lol. I did notice that most big names barely do media interviews anymore-like Beyonce and Taylor so I wouldn't be surprised if he went that route. |
